I went to Europe!! Now I'm going to Bonnaroo! Trying to make this summer count. :D One last trip to move, and until then, weekends of hanging out with people in my home state. This summer has had so much excitement!!

Posted (edited)

- Helping around the house and helping to take care of my grandmother

- Spending time with my family, boyfriend, and friends

- Working a lot to save up money (just saved up enough for the first 3-months rent on my apartment because rent payments are quarterly!! Now putting my earnings toward the credit card I was using on other purchases while I was saving for the first quarterly payment ...)

- Continuing eating healthy (erm, healthier than before, that is ... ) and exercising

- Continuing learning to cook

- Getting various odds and ends that I need for my apartment

- Continuing to read up on my program, getting to know the university's website, and customizing my new university email (it's GMail! Yayy!)

- Catching up on doctor's appointments (just need to go to the dentist's yet!)

I'm reading for my comprehensive exam on globalization and writing outlines for sample questions.

When I'm no doing that, I'm doing research on immigration for my university.

When I'm not doing that, I'm hanging with my fiancé and our pup dog.

When I'm not doing that, I'm playing on my ps4 and reading SciFi novels and books on historical materialism.

And I'll be taking a trip up to Maine, my home state, for a week in August.

All in all, its shaping up to be a great summer.

I went back to the office job I left in January when I began student teaching. I'm going to be here until early to mid-August, at which point I'll be moving for graduate school. Apart from that, I'm trying to get rid of a lot of unnecessary items (moving 1200 miles away makes you reconsider what you need/want) and get ahead on some reading in my field.

I'll be working, relaxing, and making sure all my ducks are in a row in terms of getting ready. Also, the annual family vacation to Myrtle Beach.

Reading a book or two.  Helping my family prepare for the transition of mommy/wife in grad school.  Going to the beach and savoring these last few moments of freedom before the metal hits the road.
