It'd be nice to see a list of some strong contemporary artists that are doing some fantastic work in varying genres. And go!

supaslim
I'm really inspired by the work of: Stephanie Young Carol Long Lynn August Peter Voulkos And Jim Schietinger, who taught me everything I know and whose work and perspective really rubbed off on me. All potters, some much more well known than others.

seeingeyeduck
Btw, I see that Mike Kelley was mentioned a couple of times in the other thread... Did anyone get to go to the PS1 retrospective? I couldn't really fly across the country just to go so I'm curious.

Btw, I see that Mike Kelley was mentioned a couple of times in the other thread... Did anyone get to go to the PS1 retrospective? I couldn't really fly across the country just to go so I'm curious. I visited last fall with a friend. It was likely one of the most extensive retrospectives I've seen in a while. I was there an for hour and a half and didn't even get to see all of it. They even had his Paul McCarthy collaboration "Heidi" on display.
llife00
the mike kelley retrospective is also the only time in the history of ps1 that the entire facility was dedicated to just one artist.
