bannedinbc Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 I searched and found a thread from last year about Skowhegan; people were getting notified in early April, so we probably have another month of waiting.
milllla Posted March 5, 2014 Author Posted March 5, 2014 yes, you're right. trying not to think about it
serendip Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Did anyone submit video? I noticed the views on the work I sent them stopped going up last month... Judging from last-year's forum, this is a bad sign, no?
bannedinbc Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 same for the videos I submitted.. probably a bad sign, yeah.
R.ricardo Posted March 8, 2014 Posted March 8, 2014 Mine shows 7 loads, 4 views. The number of loads keeps going up but no new views the past week.
catfan666 Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 anyone heard of acceptances or rejections yet? (supposedly this is the week when people hear word)
artskewlisapyrmaidskeme Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 I would really like to know as well. I'm in a bind due to another opportunity that I need to make a decision about by Sunday. I get the suspicion based off Vimeo plays that I might have made it to a late round of decisions so any info on if they have even started e-mailing decisions would be a huge help.
yayjulieyeo Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Haven't received email yet as well. Judging from when the 2013 applicants received their notice, I think we can expect to hear from them by tomorrow-hopefully...
benditaepifania Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 I am waiting to hear too... I hope they will send us notifications this week
catfan666 Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 thanks guys. yeah. i'm also in a bind of weighing different options - wish i'd hear of an acceptance/rejection so i can start committing to plans with certainty... good luck to everyone who applied!
peinture Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 have not heard yet --- i'm too scared to ask my references if they've been contacted? do you guys know usually how that process works?
artskewlisapyrmaidskeme Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 I spoke with someone at the office and their target for e-mail notification of decisions is this weekend but he said that he cannot promise that they will get them out this weekend as they are still in the final stages of the decision process. yayjulieyeo and peinture 2
frez83 Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 Decisions have started to go out via email. yayjulieyeo 1
mlk Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 (edited) Sorry to hear that- Did anyone else hear? Edited April 5, 2014 by mlk
yayjulieyeo Posted April 5, 2014 Posted April 5, 2014 I haven't heard from them yet. That sucks thekylemeyer, I'm sorry to hear that.
yasshole Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 How old are most of you? I am thinking about applying to Skowhegan next year, but I will be 33 and wonder if that will be awkward in relation to the age of most of the participants. I know they accept anyone over 21, but... I sort of don't want to be one of two "old folks" at summercamp, and might try for something more like Yaddo, Bemis, MacDowell, etc.
Czarina Posted April 15, 2014 Posted April 15, 2014 No! I know people well over 30 who have gone to Skow-- and any case, you're never too old to do anything you want!

The oldest among us was 45, but it really didn't matter. Everyone got along so well with each other.
