Should I email?

Should I email my POI about my status? I emailed him about 3 weeks ago with no reply. Would calling be better?

I need to figure out my situation for next year and this wait is not helping. I just don't want to seem to needy.

I'm in the same boat. Unless you have other offers, I'd wait till 4/15 or later. I'd also ask my advisor for advice on this one, since it's sort of a sensitive situation.

I wouldn't email or call at this point.  You have at most of a week left and it sounds like you have other schools so if you hear something from them prior to 4/15 then all the better.  I'd just be ready to make a quick decision if you suddenly hear back.  It is always good to figure out which school you have first of the ones you've been accepted or outstanding.  Then go from there, and hopefully you don't have to wait until the nth hour.

If you have other offers with the April 15th deadline but are still set on going to UCSB, I would contact those other schools and see if you can get an extension on the deadline. Good luck!
