Hi everyone,

As evidenced by my screen name, this website gives me anxiety.

To the last poster, I haven't heard from Clemson.

Has anyone heard from the University of Georgia? Their website says they will let applicants know by late January-early February, but I haven't heard anything.

Also, Maryland did the same thing that Purdue did; the website was updated 3 days before they sent the rejection email.

Wow, I didn't even get an email from University of Maryland; I'm guessing I got rejected, then, and they just butchered my email address.  I haven't heard from Clemson either.

I noticed that a couple people posted rejections from USF this week and an interview/weekend invite was posted a few weeks ago. I haven't heard anything from them. Anyone else in the same boat?

I'm in the same boat! Is there any way to check online?

I've scoured the application site, and it doesn't look like it.

Just saw on the results page that someone was offered from Wright State. Mind saying who your POI is (or PMing me)?

Hello GoBruins! I was also accepted at BGSU. I look forward to meeting you at the recruitment weekend!

Shoebes and GoBruins, when you get back from recruitment weekend, can you post what you thought of BGSU?  I'm finishing my masters and hope to apply there next year.

Congrats! I am also attending PSU's Visit Day! I think the visit day helps you get a sense of who you could potentially be collaborating with in terms of faculty and grad students, and overall just to see how well you fit in with the people as well as to learn more about the program. I was told by my POI that they typically only extend formal offers after the visit day just so that everyone gets a chance to meet and both sides can determine whether the environment is the right fit or not.

Thanks and congrats to you too! And yeah, that is pretty much the same impression I received from my POI about the visit day as well. I think the reason I was wondering if the terminology used between a visit day and an interview day was significant is because I remembered reading this post, http://neoacademic.com/2011/08/10/grad-school-preparing-for-inteviews-and-visits/#.VOILx-bF-So, but perhaps it is not the same for every school.

Sure! I'll try to remember to do this. It's the last weekend of February

I had no idea such a resource existed. Thanks for the link!

No problem! It really is loaded with useful information!

Congratulations to all who have gotten acceptances. I messed up the GRE pretty badly (low Q High V) so I'm praying for an acceptance but I am quite scared since I know that IOP is incredibly competitive. I got one wait list from one school and about 6 rejections so far. I applied to more than most of you it seems partly because my getting in is not a sure thing because of the GRE. The rest of my app is good or strong, the one thing is that I transferred to Colorado State because it's better than my home school UNLV, but this meant I had to waste a fair bit of time retaking some courses and I simply don't have the amount or depth of research that I'd like that I'm sure many of you have. I am still a good candidate I think so I haven't given up hope.

setite, are you going the the UMSL visit day?

Yes I am planning on going. I just need to figure out if I am flying there or roadtripping. I have a car purchase on my mind so I'm considering roadtripping so I can rent a vehicle as a test drive.

I was wondering the same thing... If we weren't notified as being on the short list, is a rejection surely coming?

Hopefully not, although I was contacted recently about an error with one of my rec letters, so I don't know if it might just be delayed

A similar thing happened to me! The director asked for unofficial GRE scores because they were looking at my app and hadn't gotten the official ones yet. Hmm

I just released an offer from Wayne State University. Hopefully that helps someone on the waitlist!

I also just released an offer, for the PhD program at the University of Tulsa. I hope this helps somebody out!
