Wow, reading your story had me feeling completely creeped out.  You weren't being over dramatic in the slightest.  Not your fault- 3 days of talking (even if it was flirty) doesn't warrant his weeks of disturbing behavior.  I'm so glad you brought it up and that your PI is supportive and getting the right people involved! 

 

If I were you I would still have my guard up against this guy.  Hopefully he's just a harmless weirdo, but who knows how he might behave or if it may escalate.

OP, I've been lurking, but wanted to emerge to say that your PI sounds wonderfully supportive and I'm so glad that your conversation went well.  You did the right thing -- this isn't something that you would want to leave up to chance.  It sounds like your PI is doing the right thing, too.  Please take care of yourself, stay safe, and enjoy your time working at home!

bsharpe269, I am just now reading this thread and have nothing to add on top of the great advice you've already received. I just wanted to say that I think you are handling this very well and I'm so glad that you have such a great support network that could help you address this problem. I hope that this gets solved quickly and that you stay safe. You are very lucky, your PI sounds like a wonderful person.
