Hello - glad to finally see someone ask about this on the internet. I'm still waiting to hear from them. Any news on your end? I keep refreshing my application page and it still says "In Process". What about you?

Hi there, I have also been wondering about NETI. I haven’t heard back and the application page still says “In process.” Any news?

Hi everyone, "In process" for me as well.

Thanks for starting this thread - I've been curious about the process, especially after they extended the application deadline back in September. Fingers crossed for everyone!

Yes, I figured if people were actually starting in January 2015 I had definitely been rejected, given that it is already November 29. I researched a little and apparently we will NOT get any regret letter/email if we are not selected. My guess is that when successful candidates accept the offer and actually sign their contracts, then the status of the application will change from "in process"  to "unsuccessful".  Just to be clear, I haven't heard back and my app status says in process.

Not to be pessimistic but I believe if I haven't been contacted by now and the actual start date is in January, this means I'm out. Look at the selection process chart: http://www.unicef.org/about/employ/index_74421.html

Thanks for your response! Hmmm... I agree with what you're saying, especially considering NETI suggests the start date is January. I actually did some random online searching (and not to sound super creepy!) - I looked up some of the LinkedIn profiles of current/former NETI participants, and a lot of their "start dates" for the NETI program in their respective countries seems to be around March/April, so perhaps the recruitment process is much longer than we expect it to be?

That said, it could really mean anything - that successful applicants have already been shortlisted by now, and because the selection process is SO lengthy, by the time they get through them all, participants start by March (assuming a Nov-Mar timeline).

Sigh.

I also did a quick search online and it sounds like previous cohorts have started around march... I´m still holding my hopes up!

Hi everyone I have been preselected and did my written test at the beginning of November - I have been requested to provide references on the 20th of November but haven't heard from unicef yet......I suppose I haven't been selected for the oral exam....

Hi Ross,

Thank you for sharing this information and congratulations on making it to the test stages. Unfortunately for the rest of us it means we did not make the first cut if your tests took place in November.

On other sad news, I got my first rejection email today 17 December 2014. I was surprised as they said that they would not send regret letters/emails.  Anyway for information purposes my rejection was for Evaluation Specialist, P3, New York (NETI), NETI012 in the Evaluation Office (456O) in New York.

I applied to a couple others so I guess the rejections will arrive in a staggered manner, as the tests were given over a month ago...

Hi has anyone been invited to the final interview? I guess I have not been selected...it's taking too long....

Hi just out of curiosity for which profile have you interviewed?

Posted

Update, I just received the rejection for  "Social Policy Officer, P-2, Mexico City, Mexico (NETI),  NETI008 in the Mexico Country Office (2850) in Mexico City"

Anyone with better luck?

Hi all,

It's been a while - just wondering if anyone was invited to the competency based interview?

I completed the oral and technical tests. Now I'm trying to figure out the timing of being invited to the next stage.

Just after re-reading all the literature, it says that the 7th cohort will start in early 2015. So this could mean March, the last month in the first quarter.

I conducted the competency based interview end of December but haven't been informed if I am selected or not. Its taking too long.

Hi there,

Has anyone received an invitation to the online assessment this year?

Yes, just today. Has anyone got tips about the online language and technical knowledge tests? What are the motivation questions like?

Posted

Oh well, guess I didn't make it this year.   Can I ask which job family you got the notification for?

As for the online assessment there isn't any as such, you answer one of the technical essay questions in English and another in the language of the posting.

I plan to do the technical UNICEF NETI tomorrow. Has anyone done this already? If so it would be great to get an idea of the questions.

The online speaking assessment may be a motivation question-see the NETI process website '  a. Candidate will be recorded while answering motivational questions.'. They ask two questions in English and two in other UN language-2minute answers for each. The other part is technical knowledge with 2 questions-there is time to prepare and then to answer again orally. Its a great system not to have cheaters!

I have completed the online technical test one week ago and now I am waiting to see if I am invited for the job simulation. any idea what the job simulation might consist on?
