Scottstein Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 Hi people, Just to ask if I can send the online reco requests to my letter writers and then keep polishing my SOP and WS till ,say, three days before deadline?? OR, are reco requests only sent after form submission and fee payment? It seems the first way works..I am also asking the uni authorities directly..
hreaðemus Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 It depends on the school, as far as I know - when I applied to Cambridge, I had to submit my application before I could send my letter requests, which were automatic. But all my US applications have allowed me to send the letter requests before I submitted the application. You should be able to tell once you create an application account for a particular university which situation is on your hands.
Dr. Old Bill Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 All of the schools I applied to allowed me to send my recommendation requests before the application was submitted. I think it's standard practice in the U.S., at least. Even though I got most of my applications done very early, there was still one letter-writer who managed to upload his LORs before I had submitted a few of them.
Scottstein Posted November 18, 2014 Author Posted November 18, 2014 Thanks for the prompt response, guys!! I am shooting off reco requests like a machine now
1Q84 Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 All the schools I'm applying to except UCR allow letter submissions before payment.
Put a cat on it Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Only one I've encountered so far that doesn't do this is OSU's application.
