kiran.khialani Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Anybody receive the interview invite and know what to expect from it? how good are the chances of getting in, if you get invited For the interview?
onedayslp Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 I have the same questions! I also received the interview invitation yesterday. Unfortunately I won't be able to travel there so will have to do the Skype option. I am curious how long the interviews are and also how many people get to this stage. Anyone have insight?
neucool Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 I got an invite too, curious to know as well. I'm nervous! My guess is that they are probably relatively short interviews though, like Emerson.
kiran.khialani Posted February 10, 2015 Author Posted February 10, 2015 I got one for BU not Emerson. It's odd considering BU is supposed to be harder to get into, I thought. I'll ask somebody I know from BU and let you'll know. Let's hope somebody knows. :/
slpPLS Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Hi, I received an email saying "Due to our exceptionally talented application pool, we are unable to invite you for an interview at this time. A final decision regarding your application will be made by the first week in March." I was wondering should I assume I have been rejected? Will there be a different round of interviews? Do I have a chance of getting on the waitlist? I knew I was reaching with BU so I'm not surprised but I am trying to keep a positive outlook. Thanks for any insight!
kiran.khialani Posted February 11, 2015 Author Posted February 11, 2015 Oh, oops. Sorry I'm honestly not sure either but I hope it means you've still got a chance
Yzheng0131 Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Hi, I got an invite too. Have you decided to do inperson or via Skype? Really curious about how would the interview be!!!!!
kiran.khialani Posted February 11, 2015 Author Posted February 11, 2015 Hii yes I am too. I'm an international applicant , I live in India so Skype is the only option for me
Yzheng0131 Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Hii I am also an international applicant!! I am from China! I am studying in US now.
slplivin Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Anyone else really concerned about the weather? Boston is supposed to get even more snow this weekend and I am really hoping we can all still travel to the interview!
jwurth Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Anyone else really concerned about the weather? Boston is supposed to get even more snow this weekend and I am really hoping we can all still travel to the interview! I'm worried too! I have to drive up from Ohio and I really feel like I could make a better impression in person over skype. Congrats to everyone who received an interview and best of luck!
neucool Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Yeah, I'm in the Northeast and the weather is stressing me out big time. :/ I'm not as worried about travel because I'm taking the train (from NY) but I am def worried about school closure. It would suck to spend the time and $$ just to have to Skype from the hostel... Although I'd be even more anxious if I was one of y'all coming from farther/flying in!
slplivin Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 So has anyone found out any more information regarding the interview process? I am trying to figure out what to expect!
kiran.khialani Posted February 17, 2015 Author Posted February 17, 2015 No clue! Anybody else? Whichever of you'll are going there and speak to students, please tell us more about it
onedayslp Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Has anyone been able to find out how long these interviews are? Mine starts are 3:50, so can I assume it's only 10 minutes?
emily2392 Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Someone on the results page said that their acceptance to Northeastern was posted on the website today. Has anyone else received an acceptance? If so, when did you submit your application?
onedayslp Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 Did anyone interview for BU yet? Mine is tomorrow and I'm so nervous! Particularly about any questions concerning prerequisite material
1772 Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 I had my interview this morning and didn't do so well Don't worry though, the questions they asked are very routine and they are very kind! I think I was just extremely nervous. Good luck to everyone interviewing this weekend!

But maybe it went a lot better than you think it did Do you know how long it was?

onedayslp Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 My BU interview was today over Skype. It was really short, less than 15 minutes. They only asked a handful of questions and nothing about prerequisite material. good luck Sunday interviewees!
taniawu Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Can anyone share which professors interviewed them at BU?
onedayslp Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Can anyone share which professors interviewed them at BU? I guess I was pretty nervous because I can't seem to remember their names... it was two ladies, though. For those of you who interviewed in person -- how was the tour of the facilities? What kind of feel did you get from the students you met? Any info is appreciated!
neucool Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 BU definitely impressed on the facilities front. There was a very long tour of all the research labs, they made it clear that they had lots of access to medical imaging equipment and pretty much anything else you'd expect from a large research institution. I don't remember the names of the faculty I interviewed with, they were by no means unfriendly but I found them a little bit stiff/distant. The students seemed pretty stressed and overwhelmed, but they were pretty friendly too.
slplivin Posted February 25, 2015 Posted February 25, 2015 Did they say during in-person interviews when we should expect to hear back?
