Me too! haven't let them know yet but will let them know soon.

I heard there's off campus housing referral service available if we can get the Vandy NetID thing.

I heard the off campus housing is expensive :(

I've just been looking online and it seems that there are lots of questionable complexes (they change their names frequently so it's hard to keep up). The housing just off campus is unreal ($1500/mo). I've been looking about 15-20 min off campus and it's a bit more affordable ($1000/mo) but still not ideal...

I will very likely end up at Vandy as well! inyourgenes are you IGP??

When I visited, some of the students mentioned that many of the places don't post online, so if possible it's best to go down and literally drive around and look for for rent signs. Lots of the IGP students live in Bellvue which is about 15 minutes away but less expensive. I've been looking some there because I am highly considering purchasing a townhouse or condo.

If you want to be within walking distance, it looks like you will probably want to find a roommate. Lots of these places are pretty reasonable for a 2 bedroom. I am not sure if this is for all programs, but the IGP sends out a list of potential roommates and properties when the class list is finalized.

GABA-daba-doo hi!! I'm so excited to know a potential classmate! I'm not IGP, I'm a direct admit to the bio program. I hear that most first year students take the bioreg course, so we'll probably be in that together!!

I have an immune issue, so I really need to live alone but finding nice, clean, cheap apartments online has been hard. I've been looking at Post Ridge apartments (which I think is in Bellevue) and it seems like a pretty solid fit, but I think I might need to go make another visit down there to find a place, as you suggest. When are you planning to move? (I live in MA right now, so I'm dreading this move.)

Hi inyourgenes! I would definitely contact some students and see if they have suggestions for places to live. I have talked to a couple and they been extremely helpful. I was planning to fly down in July and look for housing and then move the first week of August. What about you? (I'm in Utah, so also a big move!)

GABA, I'm also planning to move in the first week of August, but I'm nervous about waiting to find housing, so I'd like to find a place online very soon. Maybe I'll fly down, but I'm finishing my thesis right now, so I'm a little strapped for time. Do you have any info on when classes start or when orientation is or anything like that?

Hi all! I just accepted my offer this morning. I am also trying to find housing now (not an easy task!)

My mom just moved to Memphis so I will probably fly down to visit her, then take a weekend over in Nashville to drive around and look for an apartment. I would love to be in a neighborhood around campus, but I'm just not sure if there are affordable options!

Hi Everyone! I accepted the offer from Vanderbilt last Friday, been trying to figure out when I should move down/find an apartment since I will begin working with my department starting in July. Is it normal/acceptable to contact students who are already in the program and pick their brains about neighborhoods to look for housing?

Hi All! I will be in the neuroscience graduate program. I actually already have a townhouse in Nashville (the advantage of making a decision early) but won't actually be moving in until later this summer. But now I'm looking for a roommate to help cover rent. It's about 12-15 minutes from campus, on the west side of Nashville. Looking for a female roommate, if you think you might be interested message me for more details! :)

Hi all!

I guess I'm a little late to the party, but I'll also be attending Vanderbilt for graduate school beginning this Fall. Like LeSilk, I'll be moving down in July to begin working. Anyone still looking for a roommate? I'm 25 y/o, male with a cat. Looking for someone who is easy to live with and outgoing like myself.

Is anyone else still waiting on info from their program about start dates, registration, etc.? I'm ready to start getting ready and the wait for more information is starting to get long!
