Has anyone heard from Princeton? They seem to be pretty silent this year. Usually they are amongst the first ones who would send out the offers.

It seems that you want to be the part of Doyle group with the nucleophilic fluorination project : )

I haven't heard yet, although have already been admitted to U Chicago and UC Irvine. But still waiting for Princeton, since it is the best fit for me.

Heads up for those applying to stony brook. They normally don't interview if you're domestic (I'm from there). For the one or 2 people interested in the chemical biology program there, PM me about people that you'd be interested in working with and I can probably give you some inside info on them :)

I was invited to open house/visit weekend at UPenn, but I haven't received an acceptance yet. Can I assume I've been accepted?

That probably means you're accepted. You can see if they posted a decision letter on applyweb though.

That's what I figured. Applyweb still says my application is "ready for review". It's a bit odd, but I'll take whatever I can get!

I received a phone call from Princeton's director of grad studies today......asked about my research and something personal (I'm a foreigner studying in US). He says that they're releasing the results very soon.

A top school has just accepted me so probably I'm going to withdraw from Pton. Good luck to everyone who applies.

Well then, feeling rather poor about my chances having not been invited to said open house weekend! Oh well

Thank you for the info.
By "very soon", they probably meant next week. It's 6 pm Friday in Princeton and I don't expect the office to work over hour just to send emails to prospective grad students.

I was checking that graduate application tracker UC irvine gave when I submitted my app and saw that my application status went from "under review" to "being reviewed" - has anyone noticed this ? Isn't "under review" the same as "being reviewed "? I have no idea what the difference is and I'm really confused..

This also recently happened to my UCI application status as well!  Definitely seems strange but it is somewhat relieving to see it actually change (and not indicate denial! lol) after repeatedly checking it.  I also see in your signature that you were accepted to Oregon State!  Congrats, I was also accepted! :)
