Just a reminder that today is a federal holiday, so my guess is that we probably won't hear from universities today as most would be closed!

This also recently happened to my UCI application status as well!  Definitely seems strange but it is somewhat relieving to see it actually change (and not indicate denial! lol) after repeatedly checking it.  I also see in your signature that you were accepted to Oregon State!  Congrats, I was also accepted! :)

Thanks ! Congrats to you too - I guess that this means that they actually are starting to review our applications (and not just saying that) now. Like you said, the fact our apps still show "being reviewed" when rejection letters are already being sent out (according to the results search page) is probably (hopefully) a good sign that there's still hope ! Just have to be patient and see what happens ! ;)

I had the same transition from Under review to being reviewed and I got an acceptance call last night.

So if we haven't heard from Princeton by now should we assume a rejection email tomorrow?

Expand

Probably an offer. It may take days for the program coordinators to send out all the acceptances. The wait is difficult though, for applicants.

Hi guys, anyone knows the date(s) of the visitation weekend(s) of MIT this year? I only saw March 27 on their website. Is this the only date?

I assume it's a silent rejection for me, but since I'm scheduling my other visits, I would like to know that in advance anyway.

got Princeton offer :)

Has Caltech sent all offers at this stage, before considering people on the wait-list?

Expand

First off, congrats on the Princeton offer!

It looks like there hasn't been a whole lot of activity for Caltech, with offers trickling in. I received an (unofficial) acceptance on January 4, but I also had extensive contact with the POI, including meeting him in-person when he visited the university where I'm doing research. The program administrator told me that I should receive the official letter of acceptance by the end of the month, which leads me to believe that there are still offers that need to be sent. Not sure, just guessing! :)

Well then, feeling rather poor about my chances having not been invited to said open house weekend! Oh well

Don't lose hope! I emailed the program, and apparently what happened to me was some sort of a mix up (I've been accepted, but the RSVP request was sent to me before the actual offer). I was told another wave of letters should be released this week.

It's strange to find out that they actually sent out offers at 9 pm on a public holiday. My guess (and hope) is that they will continue sending out offers tonight. I haven't seen any more Princeton offers appearing in the survey page. Also, applying from outside the US sucks. It seems like we always have to wait a bit longer than the domestic folks.

Just got accepted to UIUC! Hooray! It doesn't appear like they have a specific visit weekend though? They just recommend visiting the campus and give a phone number and email to set up a visit. Anyone else accepted there this year or last year have any insight on that? Much appreciated :)

Congrats! They do have scheduled visits. After the acceptance email I got an email from a POI a few days later with info about the visit dates for my division.

Gotcha. Thanks for your help! What division are you (if you don't mind me asking)?

Materials! When are your visit days?

March 17-19th or March 31st-April 2nd. I haven't signed up for anything yet because I haven't heard back from everywhere, though I think the weekends can fill up pretty quickly.

I see on the results page that 5 people got acceptances to Northwestern Chemistry today. I applied there but haven't heard anything yet.

Unfortunately, Northwestern required the GRE Chemistry subject test score. I got a 640 which is 32nd percentile. I am otherwise a competitive applicant, with GREq 159 (75%), GREv 167 (97%), GREw 5.0 (93%), GPA 3.53, double major in chemistry and chemical engineering, 3 years of research experience but no publications, and 3 very good or excellent letters.

Basically, would Northwestern accept everybody at once or would it come in waves?

I've already been accepted to UT Austin, but they didn't ask for the chemistry subject test score.

I also applied to Harvard, Stanford, MIT, Yale, Michigan, and Colorado.

Has anyone heard back from Stanford, Michigan, Berkeley, or Caltech's organic department?

Hey EMDO, I got an official acceptance from Stanford a bit ago, but I also had been in contact with a POI for a few months beforehand. Idk when they send most of their offers, but last year they came out thru the first week of February.

I heard via phone call from POI maybe 2 weeks ago that I was accepted but only just received the official email(s) today. I'm sure there is still more to come! Congrats on UT!!
