I'll take notes, and if you have any questions you want me to ask, let me know! :)

There is another web chat with current students that may be more convenient for your time zone:  March 2 9 AM EST, you can register online.

Hi Heather, do you have any information about how/where to access either of those web chats? I checked Penn's website and didn't see anything mentioned. I'm wondering if it only went out to admitted students yet.

Thanks for the response!

No, it was just something I saw on the website, so it's definitely not only for admitted students!

Thanks, it seems that I had already registered for it and forgot that I had until now. Congratulations on your acceptance by the way, that's very impressive!

There's a PhD interview invite at GSE on the results page-- in Quant Methods.

Interviews are 2 weeks from this weekend.

Pretty sure I'm about to vomit.

Doctoral candidates weekend email anyone? Sucks to live in Taiwan. Days after getting my first rejection from UMinnesota, sad I won't be able to enjoy quite possibly the one good thing I'll get from this application season. Guess we can be sure there's no decision until the second week of February for doctoral candidates then.

Hello. What results page is this - apply-web? Applying to quantitative methods too. What's your interest? Mine is evaluation focusing on developing countries. Hope to work with Professor Boruch.

It's this one: http://thegradcafe.com/survey/index.php

I'm guessing you're the one who submitted that, yes?  Congrats on your interview invite!

I'm interested in studying college access and success for first-generation-to-college students from low-income families. Interested in working with Laura Perna. No invite here so far.

Bummer. That's not me. Since I'm also applying to quantitative methods, might be a quantitative methods thing.

Has anyone else received an interview invite who wasn't in Quant Methods? I applied ISHD so still hoping that there might be a slightly different timeline for different programs!

Another person posted and they said it was a generic e-mail from the dean, ugh. That makes me even more scared that I haven't heard. On a positive note, they were also quantitative methods soooooo there's hope???

I was nervous about not hearing when I read that the email was from the Dean but I think the fact that both interview invites were from a single division COULD mean we should hold out hope.

That said, I just got back to my desk after a meeting and when I saw that I had no new email, I cursed out my computer. So...so much for holding out hope.

Hi everyone, just wanted to chime in-- I also received an email about the interview weekend this afternoon. I applied to the PhD in Teaching, Learning, and Teacher Education. The events are taking place Feb. 5-7.

I see on the results page an EdD Higher Ed invite for Penn via email.  Someone here???

Also, wait, there's an EdD vs. PhD in Higher ed?  I didn't realize GSE had that many options.

Higher Ed has PhD (only offered full-time), EdD (for the past several years, only part-time although they didn't matriculate anyone this year), and Executive EdD.

I applied for the PhD. No invite here.

Interesting differences there.  Well, there's definitely still hope for everyone!  It sure seems like they're contacting just a few people a day.

I'm definitely holding on to hope until a few Ed Policy people post AND even then, I'm calling to confirm that I wasn't chosen....LOL.

Web chat with current students in 3 minutes!  Let me know if anyone has any questions!  They will have students from most departments.

From tonight's chat-- I asked this question in the Admissions box:

Christina: Hi LaToya, Do you know if all of the invitations to the doctoral interview weekend were sent today or will some be sent tomorrow?

LaToya F. - Admissions: Christina, invitations to the doctoral weekend will be sent out by the end of the day tomorrow.

Christina: Thanks LaToya!

So, now we know. We have hope!
