AjjA Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Hi, I couldn't meet the application submission deadline for two schools out of ten. My recommenders have already submitted their letters to these two. Is it possible that the admission office of these two schools transfer my letters to other schools with Mid December deadline? I just don't want to contact the recommenders again for some personal reason.
TheMonkeyOnMyBack Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 I would be shocked if they agreed to do this and even more shocked if the other schools accepted them. Ideally the letters should be tailored to the schools to which they were sent, so even if this was possible they would likely not be as relevant. IMO you are better off contacting your recommenders and explaining what happened and asking if they would be willing to submit letters to the other schools you are hoping to apply to. fuzzylogician Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Assuming the letters are at least somewhat personalized (e.g. mention the school's name, why it's a good fit, who potential advisors might be), it wouldn't be a good idea to do this, even in the vanishingly small case that schools would agree to do it, which I highly doubt. You'll just have to contact your recommenders again and ask them to submit letters to more schools.
