OverCaffeinated Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 Did you guys know about the color coding? I was under the false impression that the application just needed to be submitted by the deadline but apparently thats not the case: CSDCAS Participating Speech Pathology Programs List for the 2015-2016 Application Cycle State Speech Pathology Program Program Deadline TX Abilene Christian University 2/1/2016 NY Adelphi University 1/15/2016 OH Baldwin Wallace University 1/15/2016 MA Boston University 1/1/2016 OH Bowling Green State University 1/1/2016 CA California State University – Chico 1/15/2016 CA California State University – Fullerton 2/1/2016 CA California State University – Sacramento 2/15/2016 CA California State University – Los Angeles 2/1/2016 MI Calvin College 2/15/2016 OH Case Western Reserve University 2/1/2016 MI Central Michigan University 1/15/2016 CA Chapman University 1/15/2016 OH Cleveland State University 2/1/2016 NY College of Saint Rose (Spring 2015 start) 11/1/2015 NY College of Saint Rose (Fall 2015 start) 1/15/2016 PA Duquesne University 2/1/2016 NC East Carolina University 1/15/2016 IL Eastern Illinois University 1/1/2016 WA Eastern Washington University 1/15/2016 PA Edinboro University of Pennsylvania 2/1/2016 IL Elmhurst College 1/15/2016 MA Emerson College 1/15/2016 MO Fontbonne University 1/15/2016 IL Governors State University 1/15/2016 ID Idaho State University 2/1/2016 IL Illinois State University 1/15/2016 NY Iona College 2/1/2016 MS Jackson State University 3/1/2016 VA James Madison University 2/1/2016 PA LaSalle University 2/1/2016 NY Long Island University – Post 2/1/2016 VA Longwood University 2/1/2016 LA Louisiana State University Health Science Center 1/15/2016 MD Loyola University Maryland 2/1/2016 WV Marshall University 1/15/2016 NY Mercy College 2/1/2016 MA MGH Institute of Health Professions 1/1/2016 OH Miami University of Ohio 12/15/2015 IL Midwestern University – Downer’s Grove 2/1/2016 IL Midwestern University – Glendale 2/1/2016 PA Misericordia University 3/1/2016 MO Missouri State University 2/1/2016 NY New York Medical College 2/1/2016 AZ Northern Arizona University 1/15/2016 IL Northwestern University 1/15/2016 OH Ohio University 1/1/2016 VA Old Dominion University 2/1/2016 TX Our Lady of the Lake University 2/1/2016 OR Pacific University 1/15/2016 IN Purdue University 1/1/2016 VA Radford University 2/1/2016 IL Rush University 1/1/2016 CT Sacred Heart University 1/15/2016 IN Saint Mary’s College 2/1/2016 IL Saint Xavier University 1/15/2016 PA Salus University 4/1/2016 AL Samford University 1/15/2016 CA San Jose State University 2/1/2016 MO Southeast Missouri State University 2/1/2016 IL Southern Illinois University – Carbondale 2/15/2016 IL Southern Illinois University – Edwardsville 1/15/2016 IA St. Ambrose University 2/1/2016 NJ Stockton University 2/1/2016 NY SUNY Buffalo State University 2/1/2016 NY SUNY University at Buffalo 1/1/2016 NY Syracuse University 1/1/2016 PA Temple University 2/1/2016 OH The Ohio State University 12/15/2015 OH University of Akron 1/1/2016 AR University of Arkansas – Fayetteville 3/1/2016 AR University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences – Little Rock 2/1/2016 AR University of Central Arkansas 1/15/2016 OH University of Cincinnati 1/1/2016 CT University of Connecticut 1/1/2016 FL University of Florida 1/15/2016 HI University of Hawaii at Manoa 1/15/2016 IA University of Iowa 1/1/2016 TN University of Memphis 2/1/2016 MO University of Missouri 2/1/2016 MT University of Montana 1/1/2016 NC University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill 12/15/2015 CO University of Northern Colorado 2/1/2016 IA University of Northern Iowa 1/1/2016 OR University of Oregon 1/15/2016 PA University of Pittsburgh 1/15/2016 CA University of Redlands 1/15/2016 AL University of South Alabama 2/1/2016 SC University of South Carolina (MSP Full Time Program) 1/1/2016 SC University of South Carolina (MCD Part Time Program) 1/1/2016 FL University of South Florida 1/15/2016 TN University of Tennessee Health Science Center 1/1/2016 TX University of Texas at El Paso 1/1/2016 OH University of Toledo 12/15/2015 CA University of the Pacific 1/15/2016 VT University of Vermont 1/1/2016 WI University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire Online Program 11/1/2016 WI University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire Residential Program 1/1/2016 WI University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee 1/1/2016 WI University of Wisconsin – River Falls 1/1/2016 WI University of Wisconsin – Steven’s Point 1/15/2016 WI University of Wisconsin – Whitewater 2/1/2016 WY University of Wyoming 1/15/2016 MI Wayne State University 1/15/2016 WV West Virginia University 2/1/2016 IL Western Illinois University 1/15/2016 MI Western Michigan University 1/15/2016 KS Wichita State University 1/15/2016 NJ William Patterson University 2/1/2016 CSDCAS DEVELOPING PROGRAMS LIST 2015-2016 Cycle: WHAT NEEDS TO BE COMPLETE BY A PROGRAM’S DEADLINE DATE? Individual deadlines are determined by the CSD programs, NOT by CSDCAS. What each program requires by its posted deadline date varies widely and what is acceptable for one program may not be acceptable for another. Each CSD program categorizes its deadline into one of the color categories below and reports their selection to CSDCAS. These colors are then displayed on the charts above. If you have any questions regarding what a school is looking for by its deadline, please contact the CSD program directly. BLUE DEADLINE: E-SUBMITTED APPLICATION REQUIRED ORANGE DEADLINE: COMPLETE DATE REQUIRED GREEN DEADLINE: VERIFIED APPLICATION REQUIRED WHITE DEADLINE: PROGRAM HAS NOT REPORTED COLOR CODE TO CSDCAS Applicants must e-submit their CSDCAS application by 11:59pm EST on the deadline date. Documents are not required to be received by the deadline date. Applicants must have a complete date on or before the deadline date. A complete date is given when an application is e-submitted and all transcripts and payments have been received by CSDCAS and attached to the application. Documents should be sent several weeks prior to this date to ensure items arrive on time. Applicants must have their application verified (GPA calculated) by the deadline date. Applications must be completed (e-submitted, payment received, and transcripts received) at least four weeks in advance of the deadline to ensure the application is verified on time. This CSD program has not reported its deadline date color code to CSDCAS at this time.
kumapanda Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 Yeah...you'll be having tough luck if a bunch of your CSDCAS schools are green colored. Lucky for me, I only had 1 green while the rest were orange and blue. I hope you met those deadlines tho? Is it too late for you?
Slp123* Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 So green means it must be verified before the date shown. Orange means documents sent in and app submitted by date. But no verification required yet? And blue means not everything needs to be in but app submitted by date shown. Do I have this right? i submitted an orange with the deadline of Han 1st yesterday. But requires verification. Will I be late?? Because it won't be verified until after?

No greens except one and I'm on time for that one. I just don't understand why this is under faq and not under the program status thing... Like I didn't read the WHOLE faq....

Kanga Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 How does verification work with updated transcripts? For example, there are a number of schools that require verified applications by 1-15-16. Most transcripts from fall aren't even sent out by universities until after the New Year. There is no way to allow 4 weeks from the time they will be received until the due date.

Crystal Renee Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 thank you for this info... I had NO idea that submitting in January would cause me so much anxiety. CSDCAS has not verified me yet and I submitted a few days ago. CDSCAS has all my transcripts and my letters just waiting on verification. My schools are in the orange, should I be freaking out?
SoLa Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 (edited) When I figured this out two weeks ago, all my schools were orange, so I applied to a totally different list of schools. Luckily, verification took only a few days, even though I had 4 (rather complicated) transcripts to process. So there's still hope, especially if your deadlines are in February! I'm still fuming a bit, since the deadline isn't actually, you know, the deadline. Edited January 11, 2016 by SoLa
Crystal Renee Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 I am reading the only schools that need to be verified are the green coded ones, right? The orange just need to be submitted with ALL documents and paid for?

I am kind of in the same boat as you, because one of my schools I got high school college credit through took FOREVERRR to send my transcript, even though I did rush order before the New Year. CSDCAS has still not received it (which sucks because it's for my chem/physic prereq... waiting on one class to show up...) but I sent it in just about 10 days ago (CSDCAS told me it could take up to 10 days). The rest of my college transcripts have been in for a while now. I submitted my application in December, and I was not told until the end of December my application could not be verified (major freak out!) It should be receiving it within the next day or two, though! I have constantly been on the phone with CSDCAS checking, because one of my schools was such an unnecessary hassle....I did a rush order and it took a week to even say I got it sent out, when it said it would take one business day! I am usually not a last minute person, so it is hard for me to handle this! I just am worried I will not be verified, but my only green deadline is in February (the rest are orange). If it helps, get in touch with CSDCAS. When I called, they put a special note on my application to verify it as soon as everything is in, because I submitted a month ago. So if my deadlines are orange on January 15th, and I have all my stuff sent in, but not a verified application, I should be okay?? It may also help to email the schools, but as long as you submit your application, the schools should be able to see what has all been submitted so far. One of the schools got in contact with me and said they could see my submitted application and what I had so far, even though I am still missing one transcript for (literally) one class. Just is annoying because I took college credit through two colleges in high school, and one college shows up without even requesting from that school (I still did, though, just in case), but the other one did not. SO confusing yet my dumb mistake. I am planning on emailing my universities and hoping for the best, but I believe I will be okay, and so will you! Crystal Renee 1

When I called CSDCAS today they informed me that I should be just fine because all of my schools are in orange and blue. At this point I'm only waiting on the verification process. Thank God I did not have a green school! Thats great that CSDCAS put a note on your file. I would try to stay calm about that verify because what I have read so far it could only take a few days. You still have a couple weeks left for that Feb. 1st deadline!

Yeah I know I will be fine, I just do not like the idea of being right on time. It could have been solved a lot quicker, but it's what's meant to be I guess! I also looked wrong, all of my schools are orange, so even better! No greens!

I think waiting will be the worst part anyway lol!

tea4me Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 white = green and all the other important colors one can imagine and submit things to!
SoLa Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 After talking to several admissions departments and department contacts, it seems like nobody takes the deadlines as seriously as CSDCAS would have you think. It seems that folks are fairly understanding of the fact that transcripts and LORs are, to some extent, out of our control. In my opinion, CSDCAS is a joke of an organization that gets its kicks from making things unnecessarily buggy. And that's why schools are increasingly opting out.
