  1. Congrats on the acceptance! I do believe that there is a possibility if you work full time. Maybe working 4-7 at private clinics and such. NYU was not the only distance program I applied to, and I know from those experiences that those clinic times were not flexible either. The other programs were also 5-8 weeks of summer time at campus. I feel like if you live in a large enough city with many places to choose from, then NYU would not mind being flexible. I think it is more difficult for NYU to find placements for students who live in smaller cities and have less clinics and schools to choose from.
  2. I did mine individually, but I have known others have the call with a few others as well. They will go over 2nyu and albert. Answer questions about courses, talk about going to NYC briefly for clinic, and talk about your courses just briefly.
  3. If your plan of study consists of being part time and with very little undergrad courses you need to take then you should be on the same track as me. it looks like right now I will go 4 days in Jan. 2018 and then again in May or June! Then Fall 2018 start real clinicals!
  4. I agree with the person above. Most clinics that you will work under are Monday-Friday 9-5. Also think about the school portion, which will be more like 8-3. I do not think it would be possible in ANY SLP grad program. NYU for online and part-time is 7 semesters. The first two semesters have no clinical time. The 3rd and 4th semester includes the clinic bombardment at NYU. The 5th, 6th, and 7th semesters will be 2 or 3 days a week. The last semester will be the most hours. With this schedule I can personally work 30 hours a week, but I do work from home and make my own schedule.
  5. From what I understand, they do not having rolling admissions. But I also do not think they fill up. If you get in you get in.
  6. I would ask to talk to Alana Lovett. She was very helpful. I have not even spoken with my academic counselor yet, and I know she would be very helpful for this dispute. Her name is Erin. Tell them that you need to verify before you commit!
  7. Do you know anyone else who got in, who has the exact same courses as you? A girl I knew got one prereq that did not satisfy, but we had the same class so she argued it and it turned out she did not need to take out. If you have 23 courses completed, I would be shocked you needed much else. I have my second bachelors from usu, so I only need to take Neuro. I start in may! There is also a FB group now that is very helpful. Maybe ask on there! the link is posted above
  8. amsullivan- did you join our fb group yet? https://www.facebook.com/groups/343412579327909/
  9. All accepted class of 2019 students please join our facebook page. We would love to keep connected during our classes! https://www.facebook.com/groups/343412579327909/
  10. The clinicals are two visits, which are 4 day weekends each. They told me Thursday-Monday approx. They do not help with any housing, but will give info on hotels that have special pricing for NYU and within walking distance. I already plan on sharing a hotel room with another student.
  11. Someone posted on the grad cafe board that they got denied with a 3.6 155/150/4. NYU is more competitive than I originally thought!
  12. Once my application was submitted 100%, it took 1.5 weeks. I know they tell everyone 3 weeks. Do consider that 3 weeks is such a short time to know. Most people complete their applications for other schools in December and January and will not know anything until April. I think NYU is working quickly on these applications.
  13. Congrats! I made a FB group for the May cohort, but there are other january students on there. Join! https://www.facebook.com/groups/343412579327909/
  14. It should take 2-3 weeks for your writing score to appear. I would say Nov. 10 is just fine for that deadline!
