You're welcome! Depending on where your POI is in the list of professors waiting for a student, you may be the first person to be accepted if anyone rejects an offer!

fingers crossed!

From my understanding about Ryerson, if a person rejects an offer from a professor, that professor goes to the bottom of the list and waits for their turn again. They generally do not get to offer a spot to their second choice immediately after their first choice chooses to reject.

This is really interesting to me...I know that you said that this particularly applies to Ryerson, but do you know if other schools practice this as well?
I am really curious to know how the process works after all the professors have selected their first pick. Although, I am sure there are substantial differences from school to school.

I wish I could say, but I'm not sure at all. Some programs may designate spots for POI's and may instruct them to go to their next choice if their first applicant rejects the offer.

Sorry if I missed this in the thread, but has anyone heard yet about admission to the M.Ed in Counselling Psych at OISE?

Any updates on York Clinical or Clinical Developmental?

York had their open house on Feb. 12th. Interviewed with POI for the clinical developmental program that day, and received an email/ phone call from them notifying me of acceptance the next day!

Yes I am aware of the open house. Thanks for your reply! Would you mind PMing your POI?

Any news on Lakehead anyone?

Hey! I received an email from my POI at Lakehead today requesting a time for a phone conversation. He didn't say anything about the purpose of the call in the initial email. In the follow-up email, he wrote that "actual telephone calls generally are for good news type things."

I'm guessing he's calling to extend an unofficial offer of acceptance.

You can DM me if you're curious who my POI is!

Lakehead update: POI extended an unofficial offer of acceptance over the phone! :)

He also mentioned that other profs are still sending in their recommendations. So if you're still waiting to hear back from your POI, don't lose hope!

Thanks for posting and congrats! I've been quite nervous. I know I am one of the top two for one POI at UofM but I have no idea about where I am at Lakehead in line. Very, very nerve wracking!

Not a peep.  I'm chalking this up as a rejection.  But that's okay!

Thanks. Sadly I'm also assuming rejection at this point

What is going on with Western??? They say they hold their interview day February 5th...is it safe to assume I have been rejected or are they just *fingers crossed* running behind?

Any Ottawa applicants here?

I applied to Ottawa.  I haven't heard anything...

I'm an Ottawa applicant.  Nothing yet... I know that the review process started a bit later than usual this year.  I hope that will work in my favour! :)

I know for a fact at least one Ottawa professor has contacted people, had interviews, etc.  She was one of my POIs there.  So I'm kind of chalking that up as a rejection as well, but that's okay.  I'm starting to realize that to truly be competitive, I probably need to do a master's first.  And I'm okay with that!
