buttercup8d Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 (edited) This is my first year applying, and I was really curious how many times others have applied and what is driving you to keep going. What kept you going? How did you try to improve? Did you think of alternate careers? Why did you/did you not pursue that alternate career? How many times were you/are you willing to try until you're accepted? What do you want to do after you have your doctoral degree? Edited January 12, 2016 by buttercup8d SchoolPsych18 1
MarineBluePsy Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 I believe this recent thread may answer some of your questions.
FacelessMage Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 This is my third time applying to clinical programs (my first application cycle was 2012-2013!). The first time I applied with an experimental program as a back-up, and was accepted into the experimental program. Since then, I got my Master's, have published my Master's thesis, and have a bunch other first author manuscripts under review. I've also presented at conferences and been trained in a few assessment measures. I'm not sure if I'll reapply if I don't get accepted this year, to be honest. I'll have to see how things go. If I do get my doctoral degree, I either want to work for Correctional Services, or go into academia (or both).
