marycsullivan Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 I am applying to Political Science PhD programs, and I have taken the GRE twice but I am unsure of which score to send. 1) Verbal 160 (85th percentile), 158 (70th percentile), 4.5 (82nd percentile) 2) Verbal 159 (82nd percentile), 158 (70th percentile), 5.0 (93 percentile) Basically do I send the scores with a higher verbal section or stronger analytical writing section?
cristyarline Posted October 23, 2016 Posted October 23, 2016 Since your verbal and quan seem to be pretty similar in comparison I would def go with the one with the stronger analytical section. I was a political science undergraduate and was always told that grad programs in Political Science look for above average writing on the GRE.
DBear Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 I second @cristyarline. Your verbal scores arware pretty similar, so having a much stronger AWA would stand out. Plus, political science and policy related fields emphasize writing aptitude so I think that would be something you can focus on.
