smilingface Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 Any one who has applied for women's or gender studies in 2010? I have applied for the programs at Emory, IU Bloomington, UT Austin. So far no feedback.
missesENG Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 You are not alone! I applied to Emory and WUSTL...silence so far but I'm not even going to worry just yet, it's still very early.
tem11 Posted January 22, 2010 Posted January 22, 2010 I applied to the University of Oxford's Women's Studies Program. Good luck to you both!
Caligula Posted January 23, 2010 Posted January 23, 2010 TerriM, I also applied to Oxford's Women Studies program! Did you apply for the November 20 cycle?
Victorianna Posted January 23, 2010 Posted January 23, 2010 I have applied for Washington University's program. No word thus far. Good luck to all!
tem11 Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 (edited) TerriM, I also applied to Oxford's Women Studies program! Did you apply for the November 20 cycle? I did. I just got a letter saying I'm being reevaluated too. Better than a rejection! Edited January 26, 2010 by TerriM
missesENG Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 I applied to WashU's program in English with a certificate in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. So far, I've heard from WashUÂ and I'm on the waiting list for admission. It's amazing how much better I feel knowing someone is interested in my application.
Victorianna Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 Congratulations! I hope that it turns out well for you!
lady_coffee Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 (edited) I received a rejection letter from Michigan's English/Women's Studies program today. It was a relatively kind letter - a pleasant surprise! They said they were looking to enroll 2 out of 50+ applicants. Good luck, everyone! Edited February 8, 2010 by lady_coffee

Womanofthe21Century Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Hi all. I applied to IU, Emory and WashU..as well as UIC's program in Disability Studies. I've been outright rejected from WashU and Emory in the first week of February. I got an e-mail acceptance from IU on the 5th, their visit weekend is March 4-6. I've also been accepted to UIC's program so now I have to decide which i.nterdisciplinary subject I'm going to pursue. Good luck all.
missesENG Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 Just received my official rejection from Emory today. I wonder what took them so long.
keren145 Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 Just received my official rejection from Emory today. I wonder what took them so long. Yeah, I got my rejection from Emory yesterday as well. For some reason, it feels like it is taking forever to hear anything at all, which makes me nervous.
gr4vity Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 I applied to Simmons' Gender and Cultural Studies MA, Brandeis' Sociology/Women's and Gender Studies MA, and Northeastern's Sociology MA, where I'd like to focus on sociology of gender.
muffinlit Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 Has anyone heard from Rutgers' Women and Gender Studies program. I'm not holding my breath, but I'm just curious.
keren145 Posted February 14, 2010 Posted February 14, 2010 Has anyone heard from Rutgers' Women and Gender Studies program. I'm not holding my breath, but I'm just curious. I applied to Rutgers as well, and I haven't heard anything yet either. Good luck!
tem11 Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 TerriM, I also applied to Oxford's Women Studies program! Did you apply for the November 20 cycle? Have you heard back from Oxford yet? I'm still impatiently waiting!
Caligula Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 Nope, haven't heard yet! I'm thinking we may not hear anything until March.

Polarizing Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 Allo! I applied to UCLA's women's studies program - did any of y'all, and have you heard anything? Nothing but crickets on my end!
digmeout Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 Anyone else interviewing with UT-Austin? I am interviewing with UT Austin but I cannot make it to campus next Friday. Are you going to there or interviewing over the phone? I sent them an email opting to interview over the phone but I haven't heard anything in response.
Beck Posted February 19, 2010 Posted February 19, 2010 I'm in Australia, so interviewing over the phone. I sent them an email asking what time they counted as 'evening', since the later it gets there, the more civilised the hour gets here, but I'm pretty sure I'll be talking to them at some ungodly first-thing-in-the-morning time. Haven't heard anything back.
Lovelyn Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 I apped to a bunch of long shots and have only heard back from two so far: UC Berkeley (Ethnic Studies) University of Washington University of Maryland UC Riverside (Ethnic Studies) University of British Columbia University of Florida - Accepted UC Santa Barbara - Rejected Good luck to everyone out there
