lilyco Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 I recently got my acceptance into my first program Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey! They have great funding for Peace Corps and other service organization vets. I have no such background, just non-profit work. They offered me $5,000 per semester or $20,000 total for all four semesters. Is that typical at MIIS? Has anyone had success asking for more in the past?
DBear Posted January 28, 2017 Posted January 28, 2017 I graduated from MIIS some time ago so things may have changed, but in general, there weren't that many funding opportunities and I have not encountered anyone that was able to get more than was originally offered. I think I was offered around that amount, and I recall that was on the high end among my friends. You can still ask if there are other funding opportunities that you can apply for later. I worked on campus like many students, and that helped. If you do decide to go to MIIS, I suggest looking for housing asap - housing is really scarce and can be very expensive.
Nupur11 Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 Hey guys, I am from India, recently accepted at MIIS in the International policy and development program. Anyone here for the same? The discussions forums on MIIS page for newly admitted students is certainly pretty dead. Any chance of extension on the decision deadline? I am waiting to hear from GWU. Also I got accepted at UCL for International Public Policy. Any thoughts?
