Tulip55 Posted February 17, 2017 Posted February 17, 2017 I also applied to Grand Valley State University! I got an email from them on Monday inviting me to an interview, but I declined the offer because it's not my first choice and I have been accepted somewhere else.

Someone had posted that ACU interviews were held last week and that they would know of acceptance/rejection by the end of the month. BUT I spoke to Dr. Barnett (I panicked) and she said they were still reviewing applications for those who said they would attend either campus so if you applied to both you're still good!

If I don't get into NU, then I will choose Midwestern!

WannabSLP124 Posted February 19, 2017 Posted February 19, 2017 I applied to Memphis and UT Dallas too! I visited Dallas last week, and really loved their facilities. I am an older applicant, and when visiting some other schools I felt very "old" on campus, but most of UTD's courses and practicums are at the Callier Center which feels more professional and less like a school. After talking to some grad students it seems to be a little less stressful than some of the other higher ranked programs. I'll be visiting Memphis on Friday, so I'll try to remember to let you know how that goes!

Did you get in? If so congrats! The facilities were beautiful and very new. The new building was made about a year and half ago so everything is top of the line. CSD and nursing share the building, and you will be in this building for everything - so no running around a campus. There's lots of study space, the classrooms, library, and clinic are all very nice. My favorite thing about it was that it feels very professional. Not stuffy professional but it doesn't feel like you're at school (I am in my 30s so I like that a lot!). The professors I met were very easy to talk to, and seemed very passionate. The grad students seemed very happy to be there, and they really emphasized how collaborative the experience is - everyone from other students to faculty is very helpful. There is no undergrad program so the professors are very much available to the grad students. Let me know if you have any specific questions that I may be able to answer!
