Anyone have any info on Arizona State’s dramatic writing program? (General vibes, pros and cons, simple stuff.) I have an interview coming up but there’s not much information on them anywhere really.

Someone posted in the Draft spreadsheet about getting a rejection email from Hunter... @Esther the Queen, are you here? Did you interview?

Losing my mind because I haven't heard a peep from Hunter, about an interview or a rejection.

Same boat, haven’t heard a thing from Hunter. A friend of mine definitively got in over a week ago though, so I’m expecting a rejection email any day now.

Hey, I'm the one who posted on draft as Esther the Queen
I did not interview unfortunately, I only received a (very nice) rejection letter from Christine Scarfuto. She wrote that they 'loved' reading my my play but that they received 120 submissions this year so difficult decisions had to be made. 

I wonder if you guys will get rejections soon, or if maybe they are keeping you as backups for them to interview in case other interviews don't go well and they don't have a cohort. 

Anyway, I was waitlisted at NYU Dramatic Writing and have an acceptance from Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, so I'm doing okay.

Hoping for the best for everyone else!

Hi playwrights! Congrats to all with acceptances! To those with rejections, I know how you feel. It took me three years before I got my first acceptance.

That being said, I was accepted at Columbia after interviewing with them last year (rejection) and again this year (acceptance). I am very grateful, but I am trying to determine if this is the best move for me. Are there any people on here who are currently in Columbia's MFA Playwriting program who would be willing to chat with me on here or via direct message about the program? It sounds like it's changed a lot (for the better) now that James Ijames is teaching there.

For those who are are reeling from rejections, it sucks. You are still a playwright, and people need your art. Keep creating, keep changing this wild world for the better.
