I was admitted about 1 week ago, but GPPI never asked me for a scholarship essay... Does this mean I have no chance at all??? Ah so confused...

Anyone in the same boat?

I received my admissions e-mail two weeks ago and no subsequent e-mail concerning scholarships. So I e-mailed their admissions office about a week ago concerning notification for scholarships and have not heard back. I am really not sure about my chances of receiving a future scholarship :( For those of you who have heard back concerning scholarships, did GPPI e-mail you first telling you to apply and then sent you your decisions?

I received my acceptance email on the 25th of February, and then was asked to submit a short statement for scholarship consideration on the 1st of March. For what it's worth, I know that they've done more than one round of scholarship considerations (based on this board I was considered on the 2nd one) so they may have another.

It would be nice if they just told everyone everything at once -- I was pretty stressed out when I found out other people were being considered for a scholarship and I wasn't (during the first round).

I got my scholarship offer this morning (10,000). Acceptance e-mail 2/23, scholarship essay request a week after and scholarship notification 3/10. Am happy and relieved though still a bit worried about the cost! It says on the GPPI website that 35-40% of the class is offered merit based financial assistance. Not sure if they have given out all their money yet...?

Oh wow. I received my unofficial notification March 2nd. They said that within 10 days I'd get my official notification from the Graduate School.

When you received your scholarship prompt, was it from the Graduate School or GPPI?

does anyone know the date of GPPI open house? I haven't seen it in the emails I received from them

This is from an email I received. Open house for admitted students is March 26th, with an additional date on April 9th (both at the Car Barn).

There are regional events as well.

Has anyone been rejected yet? I haven't heard a word from GPPI. I applied in January and I've e-mailed them and called several times..

Received an email today requesting that I submit a statement for scholarship consideration. By noon on March 12th, so it looks like I had better get cracking. FYI, in the email I was told that the scholarship committee meets on Monday, March 15, and that I would receive their decision by Wed, the 17th. Based on Minerva's comments, this would appear to be a third round of scholarship considerations.

Same with me. I received a notification to apply for their scholarship offer today. It seems as if for me at least they notified me twice of my admissions and then sent me the notification to apply for scholarships one week following the second admissions notification. It was in the second admissions notification that I received information concerning their open house. The one thing that comes to mind is that maybe their system had a glitch and some of the admitted people received the first (much shorter) e-mail concerning admissions and others received the second one, and others (like myself) received both.

Congrats! Had you heard anything from them before today since submitting your application?

Not a peep--I had been reading this thread and had completely given up hope!

I just got an email from them that they sent out a few hard copy formal acceptances and a bunch more today.

for those who were supposed to receive a scholarship notification on monday, is anybody still waiting to hear? i still haven't heard anything.

I'm still waiting to hear from the Georgetown Graduate School. I received admission notification from GPPI but nothing since (been about 8 days).

I do find it odd that I didn't get a decision on funding but got a bunch of info about open house receptions (some people are in the opposite position).

I'm definitely emailing them today to get an update.

I'm not sure what is happening, but I got a duplicate admissions email this morning. I received my first admissions email March 2nd saying that I will hear more within 10 days (including funding information). After I didn't hear anything, I tried to contact the admissions office thinking there was a problem...and in response I received the duplicate email.

Is anyone else having trouble getting more information? GPPI is definitely one of my top choices, but only if I can secure some funding.

How do I get out of this admissions mobius strip?

I just received the exact same "Welcome to GPPI!" email that I received March 2. I guess they just like me so much they DOUBLE accepted me. Did this happen to anyone else? Weird.

For the record, I still haven't gotten the official graduate school letter, admissions packet, or a single peep about financial aid.

I've been having trouble getting information too--I've emailed Emmitt Griffin twice already asking him when we'd know about funding, but no reply.

I got an email from them today that started with "Congratulations again on your admission to the Georgetown Public Policy Institute. We received a record number of applicants this year..." Just tell me how much money I'm getting!

I just got a dupe email too. My original acceptance was dated Feb 2, and I already got funding, so I'm guessing this is just a little computer system snafu.
