Has anyone researched German University MFA programs? I have been on many of their website but can't find information on how to apply for their MFA programs.

I just got into a program in Frankfurt Germany that you may wanna look into called Städelschule. It's very loose from what it seems and most speak English. Very "edgy" kind of school that feels like it has no rules, but the faculty is A+ and it's a small program. Considered to be the best art school in Germany

You don't get a MFA tho. Just a special honorary type of diploma called a Meisterschuler. Studio is the focus and interaction with your professor who you apply to one of them specifically for

The school in Düsseldorf seems cool too tho, but a lil less interesting and experimental than städel

Could you shed some light onto your decision making to go with this program? I read on their page that it's also a 10 semester study?? Looks like a fantastic opportunity.

Language is not an issue for me since I speak German. Since my family lives in the USA the MFA is important. The University I choose needs to be accredited here in the USA. A simple search should bring up German Universities which offer an MFA in fine art, that is not the case. Not sure if I am going about it the wrong way.

After visiting Alfred University this week I am not surprised that I can't find MFA programs in Germany. Alfred/Düsseldorf will be your best bet if you like to gain the international experience and love contemporary painting. Because it is international it is not a fully funded program but certainly worth looking into. Loved the campus and was given a tour by program director Kevin  Wixed himself.

I would also look into Piet Zwart Institute in Rotterdam. Small, affordable, and offers English programs. I know it is not in Germany, but it has a great reputation and is cheap.
