Any debaters applying for History PhD's?

I happen to be a college debater and I was curious if any other debaters (CEDA or LD) are lurking around here. Its odd because both my partner and myself are applying to do history PhD's and I can't think of anyone else that I know who is both a debater and potential future historian.

i debated in high school (prez of my school's tiny club). my college didnt have a team though!

I was in debate club in high school! Does that count? I also looked into joining the Debate team/club/society and Mock UN but the time commitment seemed overwhelming and they were too serious for me.

i was a debater in high school. signed up because it was a good way to get away from home and borrow college kids' IDs and go partying. the thrill of parliamentary style was gone when i could get into bars legally in college.

I did debate in high school (Lincoln-Douglas) for the National Forensic League. I also did some policy debate in college, but only intracollegiate.

I was pretty heavy into Mock Trial and Youth and Government when I was in high school. The people that knew me then would probably be shocked to find that I am not a lawyer now.

I didn't want all that crazy competitiveness, constant stress and fear....oh wait...

Another high school debater here. I did some policy, but I was really a speechie at heart (OA, OO, some Duo and DI). Did anyone go to the invitationals at Berkeley? We might have hit each other!
