Sociology for starters

Hi all,

 

I'm actually a social psych student but I have a growing interest in sociology. Does anyone have any tips on essential papers, books, online lectures, etc. I can use to educate myself?? Or - list your favorite book/paper in sociology (or both).

First of all, love the Espeon DP. But going back to your question, I recommend any of Erving Goffman's work. I was pursuing social psychology in sociology when I was an undergraduate. His work? Phenomenal!

I am not a sociology major, but I took a sociology of ethnic relations course in undergrad and I really enjoyed reading Eduardo Bonilla-Silva's book called Racism without Racists.
