I was talking to the faculty, they said that I could maybe get a consolation master's and waive in to the PhD...I will more than likely decline. It was for an early admission thing for minorities or something. Im pissed though -

How do I get a quantitative background?
ThisGuyRiteHere replied to Njhasty's topic in Political Science Forum
love the signature -
I got into a MA in Economics and the books for Macro is Advanced Macroeconomics from Romer and Microeconomic Theory by Mas Colell. What math is needed to succeed in these courses? The econometrics book is Woolridge and the Mathematical book is the Intro to Mathematical economics book that most UG prgrams use. I only took Calc 1 and I dont want to get into anything too deep and fail out. I have to pay for this also and relocate (another reason Im hesitant). Thanks!

Buy a good statistics book with a mystatlab. I think mystatlab alone costs about 100 dollars and comes with a ebook and you can learn at home. my uni uses it for most stats classes -

Thirteen schools. You should get one at least. Hopefully you applied to a good range of schools to ensure that. -
I know they have them for medicine, but are there any summer research opportunities for political science, UG, Masters or PhD students? If so where?

Looks good to me.

Hit Georgetown, Maryland, Florida State and maybe Johns Hopkins. Delaware for safety if you want one. -

GRE vs. Outside Founding and GPA Problem
ThisGuyRiteHere replied to doctoralgrad23's topic in Political Science Forum
If its a true representation of the student's ability, than fine. If the student can do better, I would retake. My GRE is low, but I studied for a month, took a computer adaptive practice test and scored EXACTLY the same on the real GRE. Plus, I dont have another 100+ to shell out on a test, so Im rockin with it. -

Virginia is good for IR. You sure you dont want to apply for American or Georgetown? It seems like your targeting DC and Florida. Since you have a scholarship I would possibly try for those two also.
