Oh my... that is certainly worse than my story! I also share my last name with a very well-known celebrity, so after about a page of stuff on me, it's all just stuff about him. But wow.. I am sorry about that! Haha that is sooo unfortunate!

Guys - I just Googled my name for the first time in a while, and I found a tweet from my account that I never actually tweeted. It said something about special K, and then linked to site of erotic stories. I deleted the hacked tweet, but I hope no adcomms think I write erotica!

Do you really think they check twitter? Mine is mostly about literature (with a couple of Seinfeld quotes and some Patriots fandom) so I am not too worried, but do you really think they go beyond the application you send in?

Great thread idea. I am taking my time off to finally read things that have been on my list for a while. Right now I am finally reading Maus, and loving it! I'll probably finish it today, and move on to another book I've never gotten around to 'till now - A Clockwork Orange. Bluecheese - what are YOU reading now?

I keep telling myself that there is about a 99.99% chance I won't hear anything until the very end of January at the earliest. But it's that 00.01% chance that forces me to obsessively check my e-mail...

That Buffalo post IS either fake, or ill-conceived. It said that the program contacted them on a Sunday, which would not be the case. Buffalo does not do interviews, even for fellowships. It was posted the day after applications were due, and I know for a fact that the admissions committee had not met yet at that point. I am wondering if the person who posted that meant they tried to call the department with a question or something like that...

I know. I REALLY need to get on that. It's one of those books that EVERYONE has read, and everyone brings it up as if everyone really has. So I feel like I know it better than any other book I've never read. But I really do need to actually read it. I thought The Secret Agent was just so-so, though I could really appreciate what he was doing with it.
