Just got a call from my roommate. I received my financial aid package today via post.

My friend who lived in Boston recommended Border Cafe as well askamy! I think he said he had a delicious crawdad enchilada. I'm excited about Open House and visiting Cambridge/Boston for the first time! Oh and hopefully meeting some of y'all!

The cost of housing is a real shocker for me! I looked at on-campus housing but I'm a little concerned about the dining plan though. Also is anyone going to the Open House in April?

I was notified today that I received a 1/3 Dean's Tuition Scholarship. However, I was accepted into a different program than everyone posting--Reading Education--so I don't know if this means more people will start receiving letters of awards.

Though I don't post much, it has made me feel a lot better reading this thread while we wait for decisions! As far as distracting myself, I'm having dinner with a friend and a film crew from Harvard tonight. They are visiting to do a follow-up interview on the friend who graduated from HKS. I'm not sure if this will distract me from thinking about tomorrow or make me more obsessive Though tomorrow I'll be very busy since we have an extended school day plus the film crew is coming to observe my class and hopefully get some shots for the interview. Thanks! No word yet on funding but I did receive an email from the financial aid office saying they received my FAFSA app and will process it once I am admitted--that was a week or so ago. I checked the financial aid tab after checking my admissions status and it also said processing but that I would know something in two weeks.

I didn't apply for a PhD or EdD but I was accepted for Master's in Language and Literacy Studies at UT Austin. I heard back from them late Wednesday night.

I'm in my third year of teaching.

Hey everyone, I'm applying to different Literacy and Language/Reading programs: University of Texas-Austin Vanderbilt Harvard I may apply to UVA and Johns Hopkins but right now I'm undecided. I received an acceptance letter from UPenn's Reading, Writing, and Literacy program. Good luck to everyone!!

Well I finally heard back from UPenn. I got in and they offered me a scholarship and graduate assistantship (10k). Now I just have to wait until March to hear from the other schools...

Thanks for sharing your experiencesl! I wasn't able to attend the session but after hearing how informative the Higher Ed session was for yall Higher Ed people, I'm really glad I signed up for the Language and Literacy session this Monday.

Yeah we are applying to completely different programs so that could a reason for the different response times--I'm applying to the Reading, Writing, Literacy program. But congratulations on that scholarship!

Oh wow that's a quick turnaround! Congrats! Though I do have to admit hearing this makes me nervous..I applied to UPenn too but my app was sent for faculty review October 24th and I haven't received anything. What program did you apply to?
