I can't really speak for Chicago as I've never been there, but my university has led service trips there and I have heard about some amazing eye opening experiences; I feel like that city has a lot to offer in terms of personal development and social justice. For me, I'm 99 percent sure I'm going to UW. I'm from the Seattle area and am in love with the city. Plus, it will be much more affordable for me as a WA resident. Congrats on all of your acceptances, having many choices is kind of a happy problem to have

Nice, four for four Where are you headed?

Woke up this morning to some exciting news! I was accepted to UW!!!! Seattle is my favorite place in the world and I am so honored to have the opportunity to go there!!!
-
Yes, I'm pretty sure it changed after the early app deadline passed. Just so folks wouldn't get confused.
-
Really!?!? Oh geez.
-
And it doesn't help that I get my email on my phone! Every time it buzzes my heart stops haha

Ugh, I wish I hadn't read your post, because now I'm going to be an anxious mess all day tomorrow edit: Did they say how we will find out? Email or online?
-
Great, thanks for the response. I applied to the January deadline...so I probably won't be hearing back for a while. I'm worried that my chances became significantly lower because I applied late(ish). Ugh

congrats, would you mind sharing when you applied/how they informed you? (email or online status checker?)

Wow, that early!? For some reason I was expecting mid March. -
Ha, I go to Willamette University
-
If I remember correctly, the application for PSU indicated that we would hear back in April?
-
Ruby, based on your experience I would be VERY surprised if you did not get into DU. I have way less experience than you and got in The wait is killer though--sending good vibes!

I've called admissions several times over the past few days and I haven't been able to get a hold of anybody :/ UGH

What kind of experience do you have?

Ah, that is encouraging. What I lack in experience I feel I make up for in passion for this field! I am applying to a 2 year as the advanced standing doesn't apply to me (I'm studying Psychology) -

I've definitely been curious about where I stand compared to others. I'm finishing up my undergrad this semester so I have always felt that I am lacking in experience since I haven't worked in the field full time. But I do have some SW related experience: I am an on-call residential youth counselor for an emergency shelter and have participated in two service learning programs through my university (I was a participant for one year and a trip facilitator/leader the next year). I feel as though my academic success is the only thing I have going for me. Aside from gpa, I have been a research assistant under two professors where I presented research at an international conference and have been trained in statistics software (datadesk and SPSS). Other small things have been mentoring high school students and participating in the Students Against Slavery club at my school. I always think that perhaps I should have taken a year off to get more experience, but I feel I am academically capable for grad school and want to go straight out of undergrad -
Yes it is, which is why the wait is HORRIBLE. I hope we both get in edit: Just called the office but no one answered. I might call again later this afternoon.
-
I have been meaning to call...but haven't (probably because I'm so anxious to hear back ). The wait is really killing me. Hopefully by this Friday!?!?
-
I would be really irritated if they did, considering we both applied to the early admission date so I feel as though we should be able to know pretty early on if we get in. Oh well, if I don't get into UW I will probably go to DU as well
-
Nice job, Barley. The wait is killing me for UW, I'm starting to seriously doubt my chances.
-
Woo hoo I got accepted to the University of Denver!!
-
Cool, we are all in the same boat and anxiously awaiting an official letter! Congrats to everyone!!
