  1. You don't have to be ashamed! I did this too. It was actually something that a person on an admissions board suggested for me to do when I went to one of many graduate school seminars.
  2. Changing the initial application fee is ridiculous and should not be allowed. There was one application I submitted that required a general grad school application to be filled out and the fee paid before you could fill out the supplemental department application, but the others required the fee to be paid upon submission. That totally sucks, and I agree, they should stick to the price when the application first opened.
  3. This is it for me. I have no idea what I will do if I don't get accepted into any of my graduate schools. There are a couple of people at my job who are applying to medical school for the 2nd and even 3rd time. I don't know if I have it in me to go through the process of studying for GRE's and obsessing over my SOP again next year. I want my first try to be my only try, and I went pretty hard on the whole application process. I'm not sure what I can improve. I always said it would be one and done for me, but I want to earn a PhD pretty badly, so I would probably try again.
  4. Congrats SynBio1!!! Hope that I can post something similar soon!!
  5. I am slowly starting to lose my mind. I have two applications left, and I know that once those two are submitted I will completely lose my mind. it doesn't help that I have found this website, so I know when and how I'm going to hear from a school. I set up a separate email address specifically for my applications to make sure I didn't miss anything, and nothing got lost in the shuffle. I literally don't know what to do with myself now.
  6. Only 2 more apps to go. Plan on finishing both by the end of the week. I only have to polish the SOP and submit. My problem is that I sent my GRE scores and transcripts to my schools in October, so when I submit the apps I have a mini heart attack while I wait for them to update my app to say that the scores and transcripts were received. I'm already freaking out about the ones that I have already submitted. I've combed the results pages, and I know around the time I should expect to hear from each school. Still haven't decided whether that's a good thing or bad thing.
  7. Hello. I also had this question, so you sort of answered it for me, and I'll do the same for you. I also applied to Sloan Kettering, and due to an unknown error, they were missing one of my documents. I received an email stating that the application would remain open until December 10. I had already submitted the application, including the fee. Either the two of us are the best of the best :-) or it is generic. I was leaning towards generic when I first received the email.
