  1. Johns Hopkins program in molecular biophysics. All of my mentors were affiliated with Hopkins in some way. I feel like we are a family and I am a legacy! Lol
  2. I'm already at the AA meeting, saving you guys a seat! One of my top two choices started sending out invites a couple of hours ago, and my inbox is empty.
  3. Empty inbox mrmolecularbiology :-( sadness.
  4. Nohika, I definitely understand what you mean about the "mini interview". Did you list your home number, or only only cell as primary? I was surprised when I got an interview invite by phone and they called my house number. Maybe because it was a state school and they wanted to prove I lived in the state, but that may be something to think about.
  5. Trying to quote from my phone but it keeps messing up! Thanks so much Bearcat1 and PhDreams. You two are the best! Sending positive thoughts and good juju your way as well for your respective programs. We will all get accepted!
  6. Dworkable, I wish that I had that ability. It would make my life so much easier. It doesn't help that my appointment at my job is nearing the end do people keep asking what I'm going to do next, and I keep having to talk about it. I agree that January is THE month, at least for my programs, especially this week and next week. Even though I have interviews in february, all of my decisions, either interviews or rejections, will be decided in the next two weeks. I know one of my committees met yesterday, and have a trend of emailing interviews the next day. Also, my first interview is next week (!!!!) with my biggest reach, so it's about to get REAL.
  7. You're welcome! Hoping for good news for us with Hopkins tomorrow/this week! The results page is starting to blow up. I'm hitting refresh at work to catch the action. None of my programs, which of course is good and bad since I'm starting to see more rejections being posted.
  8. Congrats mrmolecularbiogy! Here's a tip if you don't know already, if you do, ok! You can put your app/ interview/ accept/ reject stats in your signature by editing your profile. That way you don't have to type it every time.
  9. I'm ready for tomorrow/this week. Let's do this!
  10. So sorry to hear about your loss PhDreams. I'm sure when you get accepted, your colleague would have been so proud.
  11. I don't think so. The application page still shows that they have not received my official transcripts, even though I have delivery confirmation from USPS that they have arrived. Since we had to upload our unofficial transcripts, I believe they will just use those, and have our officials just as a confirmation. In this case, if the transcripts arrive later, I think it's ok, or at least I hope so!
  12. Super excited for this week! I am mentally preparing my self for this week, I feel like whatever is going to happen is going to happen this week. I am waiting on one interview for sure, and if I get this one, I will feel so much better.
  13. Welocme mrmolecularbiology! Which biophysics program did you apply to at Hopkins? Cell, Molecular, Developmental Biology, And Biophysics (CMDB), or Program in Molecular Biophysics (PMB)? If you applied to PMB, the committee meets tomorrow, so the invites are expected at least this week, possibly just Tuesday, as recent trends suggest. Good luck to you!
  14. I hope the interview went well! I'm sure it did. At 3am I woke up to an email alert on my phone...in my grad school email account. I thought, what cruel person is sending out decisions at 3 am??!! I open it, yahoo generated email.
  15. I wish I had access to inside information, I would feel so much better! I would also share with my forum members. Before the application deadline of a program at Johns Hopkins, I received an email from an ad comm member letting me know that I was missing LORs. They then told me which day the committee was going to meet and that they would still review my application with 2 LORs but preferred 3. I didn't ask, they volunteered this information. I'm not sure if some schools make that information available.
  16. I love the spreadsheets! I didn't make one, but i did study the results page over the break and marked trends of decisions on my calendar.
  17. I predict that next week is going to be insane. Everyone will have truly waken up from the holiday and get down to business. One of my top choices' committee is meeting on Monday, and according to grad cafe, they send out invites the next day. My first interview is in 2 weeks. It won't be much longer my friends!
  18. I would love for it to be April 15th. I'll know where I'm going, or even if I'm going, I can relax, enjoy my break. I just thought about it while typing this...my job ends in the middle of April. Good thing I love it there, or I would tell everyone to kiss my entire
  19. Good luck porge1991! You will be great, I'm sure!
  20. Good luck! I'm sure you'll do great! They picked you for a reason, because your background is great, and they would be lucky to have you!
  21. Oh my goodness that is hilarious, but that's because it isn't me lol. I would be so embarassed. Once I was on the phone with my current employer, before I got the job, and I was scheduling my interview, and my mom came in the room all of a sudden, ranting and raving. I ran out of the room and probably sounded winded to my now coworker lol.
  22. At first I thought slow trickle, now I'm thinking that all of them at once might seem overwhelming. Fortunately for me, my biggest reach came in first, and with each interview invite, I'll have time to let the news sink in and properly plan with a cool head. I say that, as I'm going crazy. Maybe I'm not as crazy as I thought. Cool.
  23. Just when I thought email was all I had to worry about, I get an interview invite via phone, I'm not here to accept it, and they email me. I will email back, but what if they want to call me back and talk??? How will I keep my voice steady??!!
  24. Interview invite for the University of Maryland College Park molecular and cellular biology BISI. Doesn't seem to be on anyone's radar here, but for all you lurkers out there (Hi! Don't be shy!) this may be for you. So excited. Spoke to a POI there who is doing great research in structural biology.
  25. I received an email from an ad comm member, and they said that while they would prefer 3 letters, my file would be reviewed with just two, provided that my top LOR was submitted. Were the others you submitted your strongest or most relevant? Congratulations!
