  1. No idea, it is only in the web page, it is still by far the cheapest and is the only school that offers financial need for people from my country so Im not too worried, 10 k per semester I can afford!!!!
  2. Any clue when is their admitted students day? i want to see the school and decide but I can only go in two weeks time due to a national holiday as easter is waaaay to expensive and im already taking time off to check gppi and spea in april.....
  3. Just checked and also says admitted!!!!!! I am so happy I might cry!
  4. I can only say from an international perspective, but hey we are outside of DC too! Georgeown is definetly much better known than CMU!
  5. Oh so basically same email from Jessie we all got after submitting the scholarship statements I was all excited! Argh thank god it is March, that means two more weeks and all the wait will be over!
  6. People calm down, I had no money, managed to get a fully funded scholarship through undergrad, now worked my ass off for the non profit sector and saved enough money to pay at least a year. My point is you do not necesarilly need to go into debt and the non profit sector or even government can pay really well. Also, sorry but people have the right to apply to whichever program they like or not like, I didn´t like Berkeley, not sure why but I didn´t like the vibe, hence I am not applying and I understand that a lot of people do like it and applied, good for you and good luck. I do not need to be mocked at for not applying there, because IT IS MY RIGHT. So good luck to all of you!
  7. What did it say? When will they let us know?
  8. You want to be an anthropologist, go abroad and re apply, seriously why not go and work on somewhere close to your research area....
  9. Europe is a lot more academically focused than the US, they usually have a minimum GPA, for edinburgh it is 3.3, for oxford 3.7 and although they sometimes bend this rule, it is hard to get them to do it!, try ceu, it is a fairly new school, doesn´t require gre and they have some cool classes....if not I would try talking to the people at spea indiana or minnesota and see what should I do to increase those stats, another idea might simple be to do a new bachelors in europe (they are only 3 years) in environmental policy!
  10. Look at edimbrough, they have some amazing programs and are doing really cool stuff
  11. Anyone else apply here? I got in but don't know how well regarded is, both in Europe and abroad, I know York is very well known but that's about it!
  12. From what they said in the student fair GW´s program is more qualitative and they, for example, look at verbal closer than your quant scores. Thus the reason I didn´t apply (I do not want management I want cost benefit analysis).
  13. Dear Hogwarts I am slmost 26 and it is almost March please send me my owl....I need to know if I am a witch!

  14. 2 weeks....breath in....breath out

  15. I would say you will probably be fine, if you go into the "intermediate micro" syllabus of GPPI it really is equivalent to an introductory micro one (the one you would take after intro to economics in most schools). Therefore, I would just take the coursera one to freshen up elasticity and that type of concepts and then maybe a get a more math based book so you learn the basic calculus behind it.
  16. No idea, Im taking those classes because I needed to be able to use R for work and didn´t have the time (or place as no classes are offered where I live) to learn them, but I didn´t really need a certificate just wanted to know how to program and I can safely say the class has been excellent.
  17. So what is the 70 dollars certificate thing for? I thought that way you can "show it"
  18. Hey, I recommend coursera, there is one now from urbana champaign and if you want a signed certificate it only costs 70 bucks, im taking a programing course there and they are great and free if you dontneed the diploma
  19. To me they have been super nice!!!Theresa rocks!
  20. Well I would say from an international perspective 1 yr master programs are not well seen...so if you want to make a program seem professional 2 yrs is the norm!
  21. Nope, but maybe it´s because I´m international and do not qualify for FAFSA
  22. My GPA wasn´t stellar, I mean it was a 3.4 and I did come from a small LAC where professors knew me and were super cool about LORs but still I knew coming straight out of undergrad I couldn´t get into what I wanted to study (international development back then) especially as I am international and had a full ride through undergrad and no money. So what did I do, went a got a job, NGO jobs do not pay great but they give you experience, and good LOR, then I studied A LOT for my GREs which I aced (at least in the Q section, Im not a native english speaker so I only got a 160 on that). I also learned that although development studies was great I wanted a program more focused on environmental and quant abilities as that was what I lacked the most. So my advice, get out there and get a job in the area...seriously the world needs people...then that will give you great LOR and then study like you never did in college to ace the GRE and you should be fine!
  23. I did not like the open a page and music starts playing though, I was at work and I share an office with my boss and as much as I tried explaining it was not me watching youtube I´m not sure he believed me lol!
  24. Lol....freudian slip? let´s hope not!
