UC-Irvine sends their rejections via post. I suppose that method makes it easier for them to to relay bad news.

Illinois has "extremely limited departmental resources this year?" Well, that's quite worrisome.

I noticed that as well--which is why I found it weird that @fencergirl had received word so early.

@RamyaS Same. My POI at Columbia is such a perfect fit with my interests, so that gives me a sliver of hope. Other than that I'm just waiting for my rejection.

That's rough. But congrats on your Northwestern offer! Fantastic program, and Chicago is amazing.

And it's pretty safe to assume that UT-Austin has sent out all invites. I've already crossed them off my list, which is a bummer since I really liked the program.

Just curious--Why didn't you apply to UC Santa Barbara's Chicana/o Studies program?

Someone received an invite to their recruitment event apparently.

I have a couple Dogfish Head 120 Minute in my closet. Waiting to pop them open to celebrate (hopefully).

Drinking beer to pass the time has lost its luster. I'm ready to hear back regardless of the news.

Jeez, here's hoping that someone will get accepted to Berkeley.

I can't say for sure. But I get the sense it's just an opportunity for students who will be accepted to learn more about the program and visit campus.

Yeah, that was rough. I'm wondering if Texas will be sending out their recruitment weekend invites this week.

Just a thought, if a POI mentioned I should follow up with my application from a conversation last summer, how would you do so? I don't to want to feel like a pest, but at the same time, I'm getting the urge to follow up on this suggestion.
