Seattle is beyond amazing! I did my undergrad there and lived there an additional year when I took a year off for grad apps. If you choose the UW, you're gonna love the city and all it has to offer.

I wouldn't quite call that "dismal." The GRE is a bunch of crap, to be honest. It varies how programs look at it.

Weekends are actually fair game. When I was accepted two years ago, it was via email on a Sunday afternoon.

Just a week early, regardless once February hits is when the ball starts rolling.

I'm quite sure that IU will be notifying sometime next week.

Oh totally. Two certain albums take me back to my application cycle two years ago. Strangely, I miss that time of uncertainty and stress.

Some programs do fund MA degrees, so be on the look out for that.

I purchased a Lenovo recently and I'm in love with it. They seem to always have lots of good deals on their website, so you could always snag a bargain deal with them like I did.

How have some of you with dogs handled being in grad school and being a dog owner? I'm starting my program in the fall, and I can't help thinking that he'll feel neglected because of how busy I'll be.

At my school we aren't set to register for classes until the week before school starts. It seems a little strange to me, but I assume that's the norm for new grad students.

Who else is pumped to get to IU?

GRE is such a joke. The UW didn't require it for the the 2012 applicant cycle, but did again for 2013. I wonder what their reasoning was on that, besides the fact that it was the year the revised version came out.

Growing up in LA near the school, we called USC the University of South Central. When I moved from LA I couldn't believe that USC was a prestigious school because that whole part of LA is just not what you think such a university would be located in.

I woke up hung over from the night before, and my phone's charge had died from the night's festivities. Too lazy to charge it and turn it on, I logged on to my Gmail on my computer. The first email was a great start to my day as it read, "Futurama Season 7 Now Streaming on Netflix!". Then beneath that was my acceptance loaded with a GAship. Needless to say, I screamed as if I saw a black widow on my bed scaring my roommate studying in the next room. I've never been so happy from my phone dying.
