  1. I haven't. I'm just assuming that it's a rejection considering how long ago they started sending out decisions.
  2. Be right back. Making a thread to paste my thesis into!
  3. Even considering the fact that some might use it as a venting/coping-mechanism, I still have a hard time understanding the need to slag off on schools or act like a toddler. I hope that's the case. I'm not too sure though. I think there are those who expect to gain admission to every school which they have applied to. I sincerely wish for everyone to get in somewhere where they'll be happy. It might not be your "dream"-school, but if you end up in a good environment with supportive faculty and a good cohort, it'll be as pleasant of an experience as it can be.
  4. Some kids seem to think way too highly of themselves judging from the comments in the results search.
  5. Any of you on Twitter? #PoliSciValentines is hilarious
  6. Congratulations to all the Stanford admits. That is awesome news to get!
  7. I'm ready. Sambanis can call any minute!
  8. Did anyone claim the Yale admit?
  9. MIT is causing a bloodbath today. Sorry ya'll.
  10. Congratulations to everyone who received good news today! It's a great feeling.
  11. Here's how I understand "accepted but waitlisted for funding" (Or at least how I had it explained to me by a professor): Some programs are still unsure about exactly what their budget will look like for the next academic year. While they might be expecting a certain amount in funding to be confirmed by the university/etc., they still aren't 100%. Therefore they waitlist a group of students in the anticipation of receiving more funding. Whether they get their expected amount or not is anyone's guess.
  12. Hey Yale. This is crazy, but here's my number. Call me, maybe?

  13. Michigan's mass rejections caused everyone to seize up and go into depression
  14. I'm starting to assume that I'm not in at Penn since I didn't get anything in what appears to have been an email blast earlier today.
  15. I'm not familiar with their program myself, but you can find some descriptive info here: http://graduate-school.phds.org/rankings/political-science/program/ranking/uga/7815http://graduate-school.phds.org/rankings/political-science/program/ranking/uga/7815
  16. Ew. Vancouver. But congratulations to the admit!
  17. Another victim of the Michigan-monster here.
  18. I believe that you should be able to take up on-campus employment during the summer as long as it doesn't exceed 20 hours per week. I'm not sure how the special authorization for off-campus employment works. I've never looked into it.
  19. Don't worry, they've not contacted you because of the blizzard!
  20. Dear Princeton Review, NO. Now get the hell out of my inbox. Sincerely, Lem
  21. Yeah, funded. I've been asking around and reading things about UIUC in my discipline/subfield, and it sounds like a great place to go from what I've heard so far. My first choice would probably be Yale/Michigan, but I'm not really counting on either. It'd be a hard choice between University of Pennsylvania and UIUC though. Where are you at?
  22. Congratulations! That's awesome.
  23. Bunch of spammers. Shame on you all!
