  1. Applying to scholarships sounds like a good idea. INSTEAD of spending money I don't really have on a "graduate wardrobe" lol.... It's what I've been doing to avoid dealing with the waiting game. ARGGGGHHH.....I'm guilty of checking my app status today too. But surprise surprise....there's nothing posted. Yet, it makes me feel like I'm doing something lol
  2. According to the results page, two people have already heard back from the Master's program in Higher Ed via email. But the coordinator said we'd hear by next week in his mass email to all applicants. Hoping to get an email soon. I've been checking my app status but no avail. Lol Best of luck!!
  3. I haven't heard back from assistantships but I believe Kattie the coordinator wrote that we'd hear back by the 11th. Applying to them was so INTENSE! Lol I applied to 10 positions. But I have no clue what the average amount of interviews is or how we'll go about interviewing the day of. When I visited U of A we had two rounds of interviews, you either got a call back or not. So I'm curious how compact the day will be. I'll let you know how it goes!
  4. I'm trying to find more information regarding NYUs program, since I'm visiting next week and the website only has so much. What do you guys think are the strengths and weaknesses of the program?
  5. Did anyone else apply to NYU's MA in Higher Ed Program?

  6. It's mentioned on http://www.gse.harvard.edu/admissions/financial_aid/edm/index.html ...but I believe I saw the words "need blind" some where else....
  7. I see no qualms in trying to "improve" the online system for HGSE. ..hehe.. (Ps. next year's applicants are gonna think we're either geniuses or desperate when they read this thread LOL) Nicolemae- you never know, you guys might end up near each other. You have UCLA on your list. I on the other hand, will be going back to the cold....sigh lol...
  8. Oh wow, I totally over looked that number. If no one would have mentioned it I would have been that one applicant PANICKING the day of. So the decision is posted on another link, I assume? Not the application site, right? Also- I wouldn't take the rejection so personally nicolemae. You've gotten into great programs so far! Plus SUSE's incoming classes are known to be super small. In retrospect I know it wouldn't have been a great fit for me because of how structured the POLS program is. I'd like to think things happen for a reason
  9. I haven't heard anything either. All I've gotten is the reminder to RSVP. Which makes me feel like I forgot to submit my form online lol. I went to school back East in Boston...but Midwest snow is serious business! lol. Even I'm a little intimidated. Snow Snow go awaaaaaaaaaaaay.
  10. Yes, I'll be at Michigan. I just hope it's not snowing! I really don't want to get stranded in Ann Arbor. My friend got stranded in Vermont yesterday. Are you going?
  11. Actually I was told via email from the program and then received an official letter via email and a packet in the mail as well. My agora account has never been updated to reflect my acceptance, so I wouldn't base anything off of the website. I was left in the dark till I got the email. I know this doesn't help much but hopefully you'll hear soon. I'm debating whether I will visit both BC and U Penn. It will pretty much be determined if I get someone to host me overnight and if I get admitted to HGSE. All their visit/preview days are a few days apart. I'm not sure if I can handle all of them at once lol. Plus, BC was pretty bad at communicating whether hosts would be available or not. One grad student in Admissions told me they never offer hosts. Another emailed me a few days later saying they were getting volunteers, the Admissions Director told me "soon" and the link requesting hosts wasn't sent out till yesterday. All applicants will be notified if theyre hosted or not till next Monday. Which in my pocket book, that hurts a bit lol. Is there something big happening that weekend in March? I can't remember, but ticket prices are super high. Edit: I should add visit day is March 22nd for BC
  12. Did you apply early? I'm guilty of applying last minute. It's probably why I haven't heard anything yet. Lol Congratulations either way!!
  13. LOL @ LadyStoneheart2013.... that's exactly how I feel about UT Austin and HGSE. Best of luck! Anyone here know who posted the acceptance to UT Austin in Higher Ed???? I need to knowwwww where I stand...so I can move on with my life lol.
  14. You win some, you loose some. That's the Admissions Game we play.

  15. You might want to check your spam folder? I noticed there's a person who got waitlisted on the results page. Maybe you've also been put under that category?
  16. I'm also guilty of half-assing my Stanford app and putting more time into HGSE's. Stanford's app was not only LONG but painful to navigate. It's probably why I held off from applying till the last minute. I just wish I had my $125 back lol...It would go into my HGSE deposit fund lol. Hoping for better news next week. Anyone know if they call you or email you?
  17. I received an email as well around 4pm pacific time. When I checked the app site, my application still said "incomplete". So I wouldn't base anything off of the applyweb site. Good luck NewMediaRunAmok!!
  18. Same here Edugy, no pass and go and collect $400. Oh well. Best of luck everyone!
  19. Or by submission date....
  20. Ahh!!! Congratulations guys!!! ...I can feel the excitements in the post lol I hope we all get phones call....sigh
  21. Emvtgse, I was notified that I was admitted on the Feb. 4th and had to submit my preferences for assistantships last friday, February 22nd. Best of luck!!!
  22. Congratulations Embarcadero!!! Not sure if you applied to others schools and where you've gotten in. But SUSE is a hell of a program to have as a backup ;-)
  23. I'm planning on also attending but haven't bought my ticket yet.
  24. I'm also curious about their Preview event. Unfortunately I can't make it because I'll be flying to Arizona. But I also have had many problems with them regarding my app and FAFSA. It's kind'of ridiculous.
  25. Just wanted to let you guys know I just received a phone call from Penn. Just a reminder about Preview weekend. But I thought I'd share ^^ as for your application, Fraserized, I agree with M26. Especially since the program director contacted you with such specifics.
