James, I think it's a little bit ironic that you're complaining about people bragging about declining great schools when you've got all of the schools you have been accepted to detailed in your sig. And in any case, I see this forum as kind of a collective support group for the people who are applying to graduate schools. Face it, most people who we interact with regularly (other than grad students and profs) don't know what this process is like, how nervewracking it is. It's good to have a forum where we can all go through this collectively.

I thought it was POI calls? so realistically, it would be like, 2-3 admits per prof, right?

Oh, on the previous topic - I know someone who was rejected at University of Washington but accepted at Harvard, & they went on to have a very very successful career.

Same. I'm checking every 1/2 hour. Since most of my results over the past two weeks have come on tuesdays, I will be a raving lunatic tomorrow (the fact that I'll be in class all day will at least temper some of my crazy)

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by this question. It's a balance of fit and ranking. And even when you go by the USNWR American rankings, the ranking doesn't give you the rank for American behavior, it gives you the rank for American in general. AHL, I suggest asking some political behavior professors at your school (perhaps one of your letter writers). It's likely that they can give you a better answer than this thread, and they can probably help you navigate questions of fit.
