  1. I read that too... I think it means that people who are in or denied first round will have admit or deny listed on the status, and then there will also be some people wait-listed, but it will be a while (read: after first round admits make decisions) before the wait-list is accessed. I think you would find out wait-list from the get-go if that's where you end up. Eeeek! I'm getting nervous!
  2. Well, I hate to string you along further, but I actually got an assistantship/scholarship offer from one of my schools and the Financial Aid department sent me a letter with loans as the only option, but that was because they hadn't been told yet by the Graduate School that I had been offered an assistantship.... SO..... it MAY not be too late. I got a new letter a week or two later with info on the assistantship/scholarship and they said I would get a new letter from financial aid about loans available (I'm guessing they will offer less loans since I have other money coming now). Just to keep a little hope in there!! Good luck!
  3. Haha, I got that the week before their spring break (when they originally said they would notify). The title was like "UT Austin Student Notification" or something, right? I had a meltdown, of course. Hopefully they will let us know tomorrow!
  4. I have heard that UT Dallas accepts for Spring semester. Not sure if you have to be in-field for that or not.
  5. ME TOOOOOOOOOO. Honestly, if I get ONE more email from them asking for donations............ I might have a real heart attack.
  6. My dad is the same way - He says that if a school wants me, they will offer to pay for my tuition. He insists that I will get in everywhere I apply, he thinks I'm crazy for saying it's so competitive! At least it's nice to have parents/family who are cheering us on... Even if it drives us a little crazy!!! LOL.
  7. I KNOW! The latest one I got had a title "Ensuring a bright future at UT". Not exactly what an admissions email would say but kind of close enough that it gave me a mild heart attack!
  8. OMG. Waiting to hear from my undergrad school that is notifying this week, and they keep emailing me about random alumni things. Gah!!!! It's like torture!
  9. You could ask about potentially visiting and then I bet they would tell you about it!
  10. And also - for UT Austin- It should DEFINITELY be this week - see attached link on their website that states all decisions will go out this week! http://csd.utexas.edu/graduate/admissions-instructions
  11. Dude, what?!? I can't believe that has happened to you twice.... What is that?! I would go crazy!!!!
  12. You could book a flight on Southwest, and then if you for some reason don't get in (seems unlikely with your great stats and experience!), you can keep the credit and use it within a year. Southwest lets you cancel and keep the full credit with no penalty. Just a thought??
  13. Looks like we should hear this week. Good luck everyone!!!
  14. jmarti, i hope you get good news this week!!
  15. I agree - I didn't apply to OSU because I didn't feel like it was a good fit for me. OU sounds like a great program, and I'm sure you will love it. Even though funding options aren't great, it is still relatively inexpensive. And commuting from OKC area to Tulsa does sound awful - I wouldn't do that !!! Luckily, I have the flexibility to move around. Have you visited OUHSC yet? I am planning to go visit sometime later this month!
  16. Nope - I got some from the other 2 schools (TU & UT-Dallas). I asked about funding at OU, and it sounds like they haven't made decisions yet, but what they do give will be very minimal (at least that's what they told me). But, with in-state rates, the tuition at OUHSC is still very affordable.... Are you in-state as well? Congrats on OU! I have NO idea - I was freaking about it yesterday, but I have come to a calm now. I assume we will probably hear something this coming week since they seem to do it all at once in the past. They must have been anxious to get some of these decisions out, which is why they came out on Saturday. I am not too hopeful that I will get in with first round, but ya never know. (And I totally agree - today I realized I would probably rather not get in first round at NU and have to turn down an offer at full price!) If we don't hear from them by mid-week, I might think about emailing to ask about my status.. but I will probably just wait it out and see where I stand at the end of this week, since I should hear from UT-Austin (my last to hear from) this week. At that point, I want to be able to start thinking about making a decision! Good luck to you!! Let us know on here if your hear anything, and I'll do the same.
  17. Making a decision is going to be so hard.... I wish I had good advice because I feel like this is going to be really hard for me as well! From my past experiences of choosing places, I would say remember that the PEOPLE are always the most important. They will be what make you able to get through the hard days, and what will make the boring days more entertaining! So, if you found a program that has people that you really like, I would weigh that heavily. I also think that not being in TOO much debt is an important factor. Consider your life as a working professional, after being on a budget as a student for years. Do you really want a HUGE student loan payment each month and/or to be still paying loans when you are 50+ years old? I think those two factors are really important to remember..... But it's also OK to have some debt if you find a program that you really think is your perfect fit. Good luck to everyone & I hope I can live by some of my own advice.... This is so hard!
  18. I know - it's funny - Northwestern has always been one of my "dream" schools... But I knew it would only be feasible with serious funding. Ugh! Maybe it's better to not get in with the first round than to have to pass it up without funding! Especially since I have funding offers from 2 schools already.... sigh...... This process is so hard!!
  19. Congrats everyone I need to go occupy myself because obviously my letter is not up today (hopefully doesn't mean what I think it means..)
  20. Anyone else for Northwestern NOT have a letter in there?! I am guessing that is probably not good news....
  21. Mine doesn't have anything in there..... ?! I think that means bad news??? Where is it in there? Is that in the site we used to apply?
  22. Sitting at home recovering from surgery for my spring break..... how fun. Northwestern could make it go a little better if they would let me in!!!! At least it's Friday - and a gorgeous day where I am! Time for a little fresh air....
  23. I wonder all the time if people are honest on here! I definitely am... what would be the point in lying on a forum with other students?!?! It just seems cruel!!!
  24. Sounds like a rough night!!! Hope you get an answer today!!
