MerlotMonday got a reaction from i.am.me in Madison, WI
Hi, iampheng. I am attending UW in the fall to pursue an MFA. I was really interested in cooperative housing, so I looked on the Madison Community Cooperative website to find openings. I applied to Phoenix and was accepted! Cooperative living isn't for everyone though. In previous places I've lived, I just used Craigslist.

It has probably been addressed before, but I figured I'd ask for advice on meeting with Graduate Directors?

I was accepted and invited to visit the campus, the professor I've been speaking to set up a meeting for me with the department grad director. Is that the sort of thing where we might discuss funding opportunities, or is it just to help get a sense of direction?

Also--- anyone have any pointers on what sort of questions I can ask of them to help to flesh out our possible future relationship (the department & I)?

Many, many of my lecturers dressed terribly during undergrad, so I will have to be careful:-) One prof
came in late a few times and lectured in super skimpy cycling shorts, seriously... he only got away with it because he was
    actually a great lecturer.
Dressing well is also important for your own confidence - if you feel neat, presentable and in control, you will
project confidence and credibility. But don't overdo it.
