Deferring a year due to Fulbright Going to University of Maryland, College Park specializing in SLA

I speak English and French fluently and I am a heritage speaker of several Arabic dialects. I primarily do research in SLA of speakers of French/Mandarin Chinese/Arabic who are learning English as their second or third language.

PhD tuition waivers and stipends are at the discretion of the university as well as how many hours you will be working for them. It is quite usual for MA students to not have any or very little funding, whereas it is more normal for PhD programs to receive some sort of stipend as well as the possibility of a tuition waiver.
