Apparently SIU, Carbondale is not a three year leveling program. I just got rejected today because I did not have enough pre-reqs completed. You must register as an undergrad and take the required courses and then apply to the graduate program, even though their website acts like you can come in right after undergrad if you are out of field. Their website even says that you can still be admitted into the grad program without a cds undergrad degree...but apparently that's only if you complete their pre-reqs first. Just wanted to give a heads up because their website currently does not make this clear at all.

If you look on the apply yourself page, if it still says submitted, then you are still in the running. It will change to decision made once they have made a final call on your application.

Top Deck

You have to remember that not everybody who applies to grad school posts on tgc. There may have been people pulled off in years past, but they did not post it on the results board.

I don't think we will be hearing anything until April 15th or later, nobody has been rejected yet from my understanding. We are all wait listed at this point.

Well I was pretty confident that Radford would still be my decision, now I have no idea. My mom was checking out the website and it seems like I can participate in a Midwest tuition program that will save me over 30k! I have no idea how I could have missed this when I applied!!! So Omaha is actually looking very good now, which really makes me torn because I LOVED the Radford area when I visited. Omaha does not look like the greatest town and the area around the university may be a little sketchy. Of course I have not visited the area yet and will probably do so this weekend. There is also the fact that I gave Radford my official acceptance in the mail Thursday as well as mailed off my application to an apartment with a non-refundable fee Oops. And to think I thought this stressful process was almost over.

I have also been accepted to the speech language pathology program and wondered if I bumped this up if anybody could add any information? Andybody? Please?

Hump Day

I haven't heard anything either. People received an email of acceptance last week, but I haven't heard anything about wait lists or rejections yet, so who knows where they are at in the process.

To the person that asked how long I have, the e-mail actually did not say but I assume it is until April 15th. I have no idea if the wait list was ranked or not. I first heard from them in the middle of February and was notified that the accepted students had until April 15th to decide, so they must be pulling off the list early.

Thanks I will! After calming down and thinking about this I still think Radford is the best because of its location, tuition and cost of living, but I still will sleep on this and not make a final decision until at least tomorrow.

I'm sure they won't mind since it is before the April 15th deadline, however after initially freaking out about this, after looking at Omaha's program again I don't think it will be that great a fit for me. Radford seems better, so I will more than likely decline Omaha's offer. But I will sit on this for a few more hours.

For those of you wait listed I offer some hope, I just got pulled off the wait list and accepted at Omaha. Now I am thinking that maybe I gave Radford my acceptance too soon...

I (as well as many others) are rooting for you and still hopeful that you will hear good news. I will be sending you, and anybody else that may still be waiting, good vibes.

I sent my official acceptance to Radford University on Thursday. I will be asking the other schools I have heard from to pull me off the wait list.

Do you mind telling me how you were notified that you were accepted at SIU-C? I still have not heard anything from them and while it would not affect my decision to go to Radford, I would still like to know where I stand with them. Thanks!

I think for the physical science requirement you just need to take a physical science class with a lab. Somebody can correct me if I am wrong though.
