I am trying to decide if I should email my contact in Estonia and see if he has heard anything. Probably not. I am sure he would email me if he had, but still considering it. Arg! Waiting is so gross!
-
Sorry that you didn't get more definitive news. I guess they finally worked stuff out there. *hugs to you As for the note from Switzerland, that is my worst nightmare. I guess I should prepare for that though. This has been such a crazy year. I am pretty sure we are waiting to hear from NY. So, I guess we could get some news today. That would be nice! Happy May Day!

At this point in the game, I think all reasons are valid. We have been in suspended animation for over 6 months. I am going to take a break from worry and head to the gym! See you all tomorrow! May is almost here!
-
I was told that Turkey was always last and they didn't call until the end of May. I have been trying to work out if the sequester will add days to last year's date. So much for getting to let my Estonian friends know at the conference this weekend whether or not I would be hanging out with them in the fall. Lol!! Silly me!!

Quick, post again! Yes, Guy on a Buffalo is so funny!

Thus my motto: My life changing event is just someone's paper work.
-
I thought for some strange reason you found out a couple of weeks ago.
-
Of course! This is why my Estonian friends say I live in "Wonderland" because everything is so different. And not always in a good way!
-
Yep, holiday in Estonia too. It is a holiday for workers.
-
I was thinking you guys were still in limbo also. But fear not, Congress voted to clear up the air traffic portion of the sequester. Lol!
-
And we hardly ever get news on Thursday! One of the girls in Estonia just told me she was out of school tomorrow. I wonder if they are having a holiday also.
-
Switzerland too! And our friends from Central America are still hanging on. IIE's work is far from over.
-
That's what I am talking about!
-
So...is it going to be "No Notification" Tuesday? That's no fun! Come on IIE give us a cracker here.
-
I think normally everyone finds out at the same time. However, this year is different. The Sequestration that took place has made it difficult for countries to finalize their budgets for Fulbrights. In the case of Norway, some applicants were accepted, some were placed on the alternate list, and others were told they must wait to see if more funds become available. So, not everyone is finding out at the same time. I am not sure that this is what is going on in your case. But, know that budget issues are affecting the notification process. You might ask your campus advisors for information. Good luck!

Welcome to our board! China is one of the last big programs on the board to make a decision. If you haven't seen the spreadsheet here you go, https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AmoTe-gJd4B9dFJ0aW1mYTVkYnhKcUEzR28yRTNwdlE#gid=1 you can add your info. Making it this far is a huge accomplishment! Hang in there!

Good to see you around! I am so glad that you guys are sticking around the board even after you got your grants. We really do have a good community!

Wow! We are getting close to the end. It's been a crazy ride! I can't believe I have spent over a half a year on all this. This has been longer than the campaign I was with. Lol! Let's just hope the outcome is better than the campaign. *crossing fingers *knocking on wood *clicking my heels

Thank you for making me feel normal. My email comes straight to my phone so I can't escape it. I looked at the spreadsheet earlier and thought it was odd Switzerland was still waiting. I may be right there with you hanging out until mid-May. But we can do it!!
-
Well I guess we have reached the end of our day. Are you caught up on Arrest Development?
-
We were out and about, and my son was switching channels on the radio and we came across "A Touch of Gray" by the Grateful Dead and I realized that was my song for the day. "I will get by...(doo, doo, do, dooo) I will get by...I will survive". However, I am pretty sure I am getting more gray hair from the anxiety of waiting. Bad for me; good for my hair dresser.

Thank you for sharing your news with us today. I am so happy for you! Good luck in Azerbaijan. Check back with us hopefully we will all meet up in D.C. in July!

I also think distraction is a good way to deal with things. So, I am heading to lunch with my mentor, and one of my references for Fulbright. Okay, we will probably talk about Fulbright a lot, but it will be nice to get away from my email box. Stay positive, wonderful people, and good vibes for some afternoon notifications! Go team!!
