  1. Yeah, I had heard it was the Embassy making the decision for my country also. You're right, all we can do is wait at this point. I was hoping to go down to Riga the last time I was in Estonia, but I ran out of time. I will try the next time I am there. Good luck to you! Glad you posted!
  2. Good morning! Let the waiting begin!
  3. My oldest is in college, so he will stay here (yes, I am old, lol!!). The youngest is in high school, so yes, he will come with me. It will be a great experience for him as well. Thus, all this waiting makes me nervous, because I have to get him enrolled in school.
  4. Awww...I thought recanting my story to people at church was tough. Telling would-be applicants that they get to wait and wait and wait...well, I don't envy you. I will say, I learned so much through the process.
  5. It's interesting. I love how they kind of denied it for a long time. Thanks for contacting him and sharing the info! All I can do is cross my fingers at this point.
  6. I am Crystaldee, just like on here.
  7. I bought that Groupon. I am doing the online course the Estonian government is sponsoring, and so I thought I try out some of my new phrases on my friend today. Here we are on Skype and I am nervously pronouncing these words and he says "you learned these from a book, didn't you?" Yeah. "We don't actually say those things." *sigh* LOL!
  8. No doubt! I am sad I am not an ETA, so I could join the Facebook group. Lol! I feel a ton better today. I just can't worry about if this will be "the day." Hopefully we will find out before May. I know I have good company in the same boat.
  9. This is fabulous! They actually have Estonian!!
  10. That's awesome! I'm showing that to my son. He went with me.
  11. It was leg day. Ugh. I am going to hurt tomorrow!
  12. Sorry, I was at the gym and missed the bird is the word.
  13. Thank you! I needed that. Hope is still alive today.
  14. I am feeling better. I haven't done anything like my proposal there. This is all new for me. Thank you!
  15. Thank you! Yes, that was over 3 trips. I would think if you spent too little time in country; how would you know that is really where you want to be? My last trip was the best because I got to visit my host university and meet people. They are so great too! *sigh*
  16. Thanks for the info! The time I spent there allowed me to foster relationships that will help me do my research. I think this is just the irrational portion of my brain worrying about every little thing. *Thanks, irrational brain, for making each day a journey into crazy land.*
  17. Random observation: My university was concerned about the amount of time I spent in my country because they didn't want that to adversely affect my application. But, I keep reading that many of the applicants spent significant time in the country they applied for. So, was my adviser just nervous for no reason? I spent less than 6 weeks in country.
  18. Nice! That is great news for our alternates! Thanks for the update, and congratulations!
  19. Yep! I am getting the Snickers frappucino next. It's a java chip with two pumps of toffee nut and caramel drizzle. http://starbuckssecretmenu.net/starbucks-secret-menu-snickers-frappuccino/
  20. Congratulations! Belgium is a lovely place and the people are friendly. Good luck on your adventures!
  21. HAHAHAHA!! That's funny!
  22. Someone updated the past notifications form for Cyprus also. But there is no one on the other form for Cyprus. Honestly, I am just glad some news is finally getting out. Days without hearing make me start irrationally thinking about silly things like did I get my transcripts in and what about the typo on my proposal (yes, I found a typo and was devastated!).
  23. Okay, we looking at the past notification dates the countries that notified today were in the range of 10 days late; can we glean anything from that? Hmmm....
  24. I always tell people it is just south of Finland. A lady here (in OK) looked me square in the eyes and asked me if I could drive there. Then catching herself, she said, "I guess you can't." Lol!! My kids were with me and had to walk away to keep from laughing.
  25. Don't worry, Estonia is a tiny country. I don't suspect many people know where it is. No worries. But, yes, it's getting closer. *biting nails*
