Well, in case with Canada: easier immigrational program, ability for my spouse (if he decides to follow me) to work legally during all the studying period (what students of F1-F2 can not do), I also will have rights to work off campus from the day I come (changes from June 2014) and the job can be not relevant to studies, rights to get work permit for up 3 years after the PhD program. I think, even if UNL offered me higher scholarship I would still prefer Canada.

I was put in the waitlist for funds, and got an offer from the Canadian uni with funding for 2 years, with additional funding to be determined later. So I suspect that I will not go to UNL afterwards. But I am leaving UNL as a backup, and I indeed wanted to come. But money issue is critical...

Got acceptance from University of Saskatchewan, and today sent them a final decision to accept. So, Saskatoon, here I come

I live in the student dorm, and vending machines here have sandwishes and hamburgers if someone wants to have a snack.

Ironically, after getting acceptance with funding made me go to eat hamburger from vending machine....damn.

The funny thing, that I was checking email like every 5 min to see the result from the university in US, cause they have meeting now about funding. And I got email from University in Canada with offer and funding o_O Could not believe. Still hard to process. Super happy, especially since it is my third year of applications.

In my case I will get news hopefully this week (department of Agricultural Economics is gonna meet on Thursday to talk about funding). Good luck to all of us!

Agriculturual Economics, PhD, University of Saskatchewan. Last year was waitlisted for 2 months. We will see..

Got rejection of the waitlist, U of Saskatchewan. Said "due to no increase in funding..." ehhh

I am waiting too. Only one school, and I have been waitlisted for more than month. University of Saskatchewan, Agri Economics (PhD and M.Sc just in case). Two weeks ago grad.secretary wrote that she is sorry that I am still waitlisted, and she will write me as soon as she knows...eh. And the funny thing, I can not find anywhere anyone who would be admitted or rejected by this department, or from previous years (except one rejection in February last year). No info on timeline, when should I expect the answer. Getting crazy. Two days ago sent an email, with question about rank and that I am still interested in attending. No answer. Really glad to read about positive answers off the waitlists. Congrats to everyone who was admitted!

Got email from Uof Saskatchewan that I am still waitlisted and they don`t have answer for me yet. PhD and M.Sc applications in Agri.Economics...getting crazy. But at list it is better than rejection right away...

Did anyone apply to University of Saskatchewan? Especially I am interested in applicants to Agricultural Economics program (Msc and PhD) - have you heard from them? Are you going to attend or decline the offer?
