So all of these items were met: Supported browsers include Internet Explorer 8 & 9 (Windows), Firefox 3.6 & 7 (Mac), Firefox 3 and 7 (Windows), Chrome 12 (Windows and Mac), Safari 4 & 5 (Mac), (Macintosh users - OS X). While the majority of features will work with other browsers, we can only guarantee full compatibility and offer support for the browsers mentioned above. If you are using Internet Explorer 6, we strongly recommend upgrading to version 9 as version 6 does not meet our minimum security requirements. If you are using Compatibility View with Internet Explorer, some pages may not look as intended. We recommend removing applyourself.com from your list of sites that have Compatibility View enabled. For IE8: In Internet Explorer, open the Tools menu at the top and select Compatibility View Settings. Select applyyourself.com under "Websites you've added to Compatibility View." Click Remove. And it still does not work? If that is the case, I would contact their technical support https://app.applyyourself.com/AYApplicantLogin/fl_ApplicantLogin.asp?id=usc-grad When an application did this to me, I downloaded a different browser per their stipulations and then it worked. I also had to clear cookies once and then that worked as well. Hope this helps!

Saw that! They were a Dec. 1st due date so of course I went to all of my Dec. 1st due dates to check status- AGAIN! Still nothing
-
So you deleted your cookies for that browser? Did you try different browsers? I ask because NCSU has the same application set-up as USC and it views best in Chrome or Firefox and some other upgraded browsers. There is a "system requirements" at the bottom that might give you more info...

Ok, thanks! I am assuming that means I can check that school off of my list! LOL.
-
Do you know if they post anything on the application regarding this interview notice?
-
Nice! Yeah, I agree with you - NCSU sociology has been nothing but helpful!!! Exciting times.

Has anyone received the call from the grad student who sent the email? She seemed nice and mature. Just want to know already!
-
Hey, yeah I received that email from NC State that they have 80 applicants! AHHHH. I feel like I've read that other programs that I've applied to have around 100 applicants... not really sure.

Well, it's up to you, but I would not suggest putting an emphasize on it especially since it is no longer an issue! You have a 4.0 for your Master's and I'd think that would pull more weight anyway. 3.3 isn't horrible either. Plus, if you have other positives on your CV then it won't matter... Now, on the other hand, I can see discussing it as a personal accomplishment, something you overcame... Okay, I don't think I'm much help here! LOL -
How Are You Coping With The Torture Of Waiting???
socialequity replied to PsycD's topic in Waiting it Out
LOL right there with you! Things I am doing to try to distract me- I have started walking/jogging on the treadmill a few times a week, I've become addicted to watching Revenge on Netflix (it's completely ridiculous), a hot mug of skim milk with a milk frother! is calming, reading books for leisure on my Kindle.... -

Wow, exactly what I'm dealing with too! Job that is a bad fit, been there for over 5 years, why I can't wait to go to grad school, CAN'T WAIT to leave! and like you said, the load is at times too light and hence sitting on my email, waiting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
Need advice on doctorate program in HR while working full-time
socialequity replied to hrd's topic in Business School Forum
Have you considered going to law school and getting a J.D.? I ask because my VP of HR also has a J.D. and this has proved very beneficial for her. Good luck! -
I hear you! The waiting is the pits!!! My application due dates were Dec 1, 15, Jan 1, 5, 9 and then the last one is Feb 1. DYING TO KNOW, holding my breathe waiting to hear from my top choice.
-
Yep! Sitting on my email waiting...checking status waiting... |

That's good! Good to weigh your options. And if you went with a Ph.D., you would be more likely get funding!

What would you like to do after you're done with the masters program? Here is a possible resource to get some insight: http://www.emeraldinsight.com/books.htm?chapterid=1775257 Another insight: https://www.princeton.edu/main/news/archive/S27/92/93G66/index.xml?section=featured

I also applied there for sociology and had a page limit/not word count. I was unsure too so I just kept it under the limit including the references and appendix just to be safe!

When did you apply and when did you hear back?

NCSU is my top choice because since I met some faculty members and current grad students, I feel like I'd fit in really well and I really liked the people! There are a few faculty members who are doing really interesting research and they've all been so nice! Location is perfect as well since my in-laws live close and the research triangle is where my husband wants to do his postdoc (molecular genetics). :-)
