I believe the person wants to know which score is for verbal and which is for Quant. As in when you see your scores on the screen which comes first, the person does not remember. I haven't taken the GRE yet, so i wouldn't know.

gpa in undergrad vs gpa in post bac cert

allissavar, yes, i took the durham college program. Those are not the courses that ASHA or Canada wants because it is from a college. You should know this if you are a Canadian. Yes, Canada has an undergrad in CSD. Brock university. That is where i did my undergrad. I also did the durham college CDA program and i applied to schools, and i know that the certificate is useless for graduate schools. If you want a certificate program, you can take the one offered at Brock. I know a lot of people who took the certificate at Brock to help them get accepted both in Canada and America. But, if you are taking the CDA program thinking it will help you get into a graduate program, then you are so wrong. It is not going to help you. Colleges are different than University in Canada. -

If you are talking about American Post Bacc program that is different. That is undergrad course work. If you are talking about Canada CDA program, then no, they are not going to consider your grades as it is a post graduate certificate program, not an undergraduate program. Canada does not consider college courses as university undergrad courses. -

Yes, i agree. CDA courses are not used in the calculation of GPA for grad school nor do they care about college courses. -
Check out Twinguy7 from last application trend. He also created a thread called less competitive grad programs. Look at the schools he applied to. I believed he got accepted to two: Jackson State and Grand Valley State University. He mentioned that he contacted schools to find out if they have accepted people with his kind of stats. He also mentioned schools that he believed just wanted his money. You can check that thread out.

A friend of mine started a masters program and applied to U of T. She is finished last year. She told me to just do another masters as it helps. She said that she found out that they included her masters courses in her GPA even though they say they don't. So she continues to advice me to start a masters, and that i don't even have to finish it. But i think it's all depends on the school. -

I know who you are talking about. She wasn't there when i took that course, however, i have met her and heard the same thing about her lol. Yeah, i am going to apply to another masters program as a backup. What program are you doing your backup in if you don't mind me asking. -

I hear you. I feels like it would have been easier to major in something easy then take the required prerequisites. A friend of mine majored in English and applied and now she is an SLP. I on the other hand switched my major from English to Speech thinking that it will be easier for me to get in plus easier to understand the concept in grad school, and i guess i was wrong. But really all they care about is grades and not even the fact that you already have the most of the background information. I know other people who majored in different things with higher GPAs that got accepted and are now SLP's. -

I did my undergrad at Brock as well. I agree with you. Brock is a major university. People take some schools for granted. Only if they knew how hard you have to work at Brock to earn your grades, thus i am still in this situation of trying to get accepted into a master program due to low GPA. lol -

I applied to U of T and didn't get in, and i am a mature student, however i think grades are still important. Is there a special application to apply as a mature student that i don't know off? I just applied and figured they will know that due to my age. I do have a lot of experience. -

I emailed Mark at Dal regarding the GRE scores: See his response below: Thank you for your email. I would like you to know, as stated in our Admissions Requirements, “Please note that there is no minimum subtest or total score requirement for the GRE General Test.” The School’s Admissions Committee members assigns different weights to different parts of the application, so the weight assigned to your GRE Scores can vary. nat123, each school seem to be different regarding prerequisites. For example, a statistics course where Western wants a half credit, the rest of the schools wants a full-credit and UBC even wants a third year half-credit course. And, i took a second year full-credit statistic course that i would like to repeat however if i take one prerequisite for one school, it will not be good enough for the other etc. U of T has this B+ and up for prerequisites, and i don't have this for all my courses. I am in situation where i am 1 percent below a B+ for some, and a B for others. Which pretty prevents me, and i am tired of taking courses. Basically, what i am saying is that in order to apply to all the schools, one needs to do all prerequisites, because the program is competitive, and therefore focusing on one school is also not a guarantee especially in my case where my GPA is not high enough. Also, i did not take some of these prerequisites in undergrad and therefore i have to take these course. -
Dalhousie requires the GRE as well. McGill does not. It states on their website that submitting GRE scores is optional.

Hello everyone, If you know of any SLP related masters programs can you list them here for those of us that may be thinking of Plan-B. Especially programs that do not require taking any more prerequisite courses that accepts applicants with different undergraduate degrees. Thanks
