Curly_girl, I see Macquarie University rejected you. When did you hear from them. I have not heard from them, and I am wondering why. -

See the link below. It is not a distance program. It's an on-campus program. You take 5 courses each semester. Two semesters. http://brocku.ca/webcal/undergrad/apli.html#sec24 -

Does this mean that Dal already sent out acceptances and rejections since most of you got waitlisted? I am confused. -

Persis replied to Persis's topic in Speech-Language Pathology Forum
I did not start an application. I had no interest in applying there. I have no idea how they even got my info. It seems creepy to me. -

School Inviting me to apply to their program?

Yes, it is University of Maine, however, i had no intention or have i applied there before. -
Hello everyone, A school sent me a letter inviting me to apply to their program for Fall. The letter states that my background and motivation has caught their attention. I find this really weird since this program is so competitive to get into. Is this normal? or do they just want the application fee? It also states that i would be automatically considered for any available scholarships and receive special attention in the review process. I don't understand where they even got my information from perhaps through the schools i have already applied to? What should i do? Any advice would be helpful. The deadline is the 15th of this month. Thanks.

How do you get an unofficial GRE score? Does ETS mail it? Because i have not received anything from them, and i wrote mine on Oct. 18th. I can only see my scores online.

Meggie, I feel the same way you do. I am getting old. This will be my second time i am applying. I don't know why the program is difficult to get into. I am also applying to a masters program in behaviour science as my back plan. I have read about it and it seems i would like it too. It is funny how you talk about med school. Med school is difficult to get into, and i have seen a lot of med students who don't get into med school apply for SLP and get in due to their high GPA and science background i guess. A classmate of mine had a 4.0 gpa, and didn't get into med school, and her uncle told her to try SLP, and she got in easily. A friend of mine who did the SLP program at U of T also mentioned that most of them planned to go to med school, but couldn't get in and they got into SLP. Something for the rest of us to think about. lol -
It is not a disadvantage nor an advantage. But it doesn't really help your application as such. Most schools just don't care for it. They don't even consider the GPA at all.
-
Yes, i took it. It doesn't help you in any way shape or form. Because it is a college program. Canada could care less about it. Yes, CDA is an Ontario-only thing. They call it Speech Language Therapy Assistant, Speech Assistant Speech,Therapy Assistant or Therapy Assistant in Alberta.

Has anyone who have applied to McGill before knows whether the unofficial transcript has to be uploaded or mailed to the school? -

They are two separate programs. I don't see how that will be a problem. The only thing that i see happening is if an SLP professor is part of the Audiology committee and vice versa since SLP students take audiology classes and Audiology Students take Speech classes. But they are separate applications, and different reviewers. And that will mean if that professor will even remember that you applied for SLP or Aud as well. -

Does the ETS website have a list for the GRE code for each school? I keep emailing one school asking them for their GRE code, and they keep telling me to go to the GRE website. How can i find this. I don't know why this school is being so difficult. All the other schools gave me the code. Thanks.
