  1. Yeah I saw someone from MMPP heard back. I was with MCGD. Yale is my top choice, so I'm really really hoping for good news
  2. I saw Yale BBS sent out rejections to those who didn't interview. Maybe that means those of us who did are going to hear back tomorrow or Friday? God, I hope so
  3. My host who spoke with the people who worked in the BBS admissions office
  4. Nope, also me.... FYI, I was told that those accepted should hear back by March 5th. So tomorrow or bust for us.
  5. It's gonna be a scary/stressful week. I'm expecting to hear back from 3 schools. Ick
  6. There's gotta be over 200 recruits going to Stanford this weekend.
  7. The midwest is a terribly underrated region in the US. Everyone there is legitimately friendly
  8. Harvard BBS? Yeah I'm still nervously waiting. Checking my email is getting stressful. It's like back in December when I was waiting for interview invitations.
  9. Ugh I didn't think anyone got accepted to Harvard yet. Now I'm stressed. Congrats on those who got in though!
  10. Has anyone who interviewed at Harvard BBS their first weekend heard back yet?
  11. Why would you think "strong" implies something negative?
  12. I don't send thank you emails. When an interview is over I shake their hand firmly and say, "I really appreciate you taking the time out of your day to speak with me. It was a pleasure." A thank you email would basically say the same thing as that, so I don't feel like it's necessary. But that's probably just me.
  13. Wait, you leave at 5pm and arrive at 9:45 am? 16 hours later?
  14. Did anyone get an email from WashU MCB program? I haven't got one yet, but I'm curious if other people have
  15. That's a bummer, I haven't heard about my flight status yet, but I'm flying to the northeast, so I don't think it would be good
  16. Have flights been cancelled already? Edit: For Thursday I mean?
  17. I was just there last weekend and it was absolutely incredible. So many faculty addressed the Harvard rumors that everyone hears "It's cutthroat and faculty compete against each other and faculty never get tenure, etc" and they addressed it with a sense of humor because to them it was not true at all. We were supposed to go from the campus to a building downtown, but my last interviewer took me to his departments "beer hour" (exactly what it sounds like) and then drove me (he didn't have a drink, don't worry) to the building downtown. Just me and him talking about college and art and life and everything. If I get accepted there, I think it's very likely I'll end up going.
  18. Alberts text is basically the bible of cell biology. For biochemistry, I think a good amount of people also use the Berg, Tymoczko, Stryer textbook.
  19. Just out of curiosity, but who did you hear the BBS number from? Word of mouth from BBS students or from people on here?
  20. Penn CAMB post-interview acceptance rate is really high. Probably 80% or even higher
  21. I got my first acceptance!!! UPenn's CAMB program! It's such a relief to know that now I know I WILL be going somewhere next year.
  22. Just curious, how do you know Harvard offers acceptances to almost everyone they interview?
  23. Many programs don't plan on offering acceptances to everyone they offer interviews to. One school I know offered about 60 interviews and are going to offer acceptances to 25-30. It's not the 30+ people are messing up, it's just they can only offer so many acceptances. I imagine that's how it is at these kinds of programs. Some schools DO want to accept everyone they offer interviews to, but others don't.
  24. I believe it refers to the rate of students dropping out of the PhD program for whatever reason
